This can also be found on the Lenovo Page here: https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/le ... 8GMY501444
To get the Lenovo website configurations spec'd up to the one on amazon, it costs several hundred more.

The colour accurate/responsive screen in this configuration makes this a pretty good workstation for those who edit. Hopefully this is a good deal for those in the market!

Edit - Price drop to $1201

Thanks, I ordered one. This seems like a reasonably good deal. Not blazing hot, but not cold. Decent price for a laptop that seems to get excellent reviews.

Awesome! Mine just came in today and currently using it now. So apparently it's still listed on Lenovo's website but it's not accessible through the Legion brand page for whatever reason. It can be found here: https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/le ... 8GMY501444

Haven't had a chance to do any heavy editing or heavy games just yet, but so far I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The screen is really nice and as for performance - I can already tell it has enough overhead for some of the bigger tasks I'll be throwing at it. Build feels solid as well. Initial impressions - so far it definitely warrants the excellent reviews it's been getting from everybody. For a lower spec version of this, I'm not too sure about that, but this amazon one is definitely the one to beat.

It's a shame when lots of regions are embracing their new 16" legion we are still stucked with the old generation.
I have the 17" version and no complaints at all, but the now 16" version looks beautiful.

Would you be willing to share what games you play on it (if any) and how they are?

Is it worth to wait for the AMD 5000 series with Zen3?

I've seen a few 2060's in the same price range. If you're after graphics I'd hold out. Don't get me wrong, I have the y540 with a 2060 and love it.

You should be able to price match at Lenovo, then they give you a quote order and maybe add Rakuten or some codes to lower it down?

Unfortunately I won't be able to get to much gaming as I'll be using it for editing, but I did find a couple of reviews on YouTube for this exact same configuration, where they go more in depth specifically for gaming in a way that I never could!

It probably depends on your use scenario. The 4800H is a beast of a laptop processor that will power through most tasks. Zen3 will probably be better, but at what cost?

Not the same laptop, but I'm benching one on a cheap HP Pavilion and it's sitting between a Desktop Ryzen 5 3600 (6C/12T) and a Ryzen 7 3700X.

I have a Matebook X Pro and I love the screen but I need a laptop with a bit more oomph. It struggles with 3D design programs (and Cura) a bit, and although I'm not a gamer, I'd like to be able to play Half Life Alyx on my Quest. Unfortunately, there always seems to be a trade off between screen res and GPU power. So, in this case, 1080p... Not sure I want to go back to that. Plus, I prefer the 16:10 format. There's always the Dell XPS 15 9500 with the optional 4k touch screen but that's way more expensive. I guess I can wait and milk my Matebook a bit longer...

No Gen 2 ports, and the DisplayPort output from the USB-C port is the older version 1.2, not the newer 1.4 version. Price was $1,256 just ten days ago and will likely go into that range again.

Not really a deal, but these days one takes whatever is available.

What does RFD think about Legion 5 vs TUF A15? If I see another good price drop, I think I'm leaning towards the TUF A15 because it has better output options...

Edit: Can either one (or any of the Ryzen 4000-series laptops) use the dedicated GPU with the external monitor output?

A15's screen is not as vibrant or responsive, and the cooling is terrible. On the other hand, the A15 has RGB keyboard lighting and an aluminum lid.

Hmm, the 1660TI in this thing seems to beat the Zephyrus 14 2060-maxQ. Quite impresive at that too! I heard so much praise from different sites this laptop but never really investigated it.
Can't wait until the Pro version comes out, whenever the heck that is. Still, I think folks should do a little more investigating before dismissing this one. It's still a good price, IMHO.
