It's pretty good for USB 2.0 drives, only standard with slow USB 3.0 drives.

How's this for a Shield HD extension? I need something more on the reliable/dissipate heat end, not overly concerned about write speeds.

The BAR is currently $30, so not far off. If I had to pick one I think I'd pay the extra $10.

Honestly I kindof like the form factor of this drive quite a bit better than the bulge on the Samsung though. For something I actually want to carry around I might pick up this cheaper Lexar, then use the Samsung for my important files I want a reliable backup of.

As cheap as they are per price of gb the write speeds just don't make it worth it in today's time and space.

If you are just using it for school to move documents, pdf's and etc then this is perfect for the price point.

I would not recommend this for anything. it goes and stops and loses speed along the way. that's when it doesnt stop completely.

I would say closer to mid-end 2018 when the micron stock is finally gone n depleted from most warehouses n retailers inventory.

Lexar used to have some really great products (remember their PRO grade CF cards?), still have a few flash drives that say "by micron" on them and they were fairly zippy for USB 2.0 and have stood the test of time.

Lexar is now just another name, may as well be rebranded ebay/dollar store grade garbage. Might be okay on the cheap, just you get what you pay for here.
