[Amazon.ca] LG 27UD68-W 4K UHD 27" Screen LED-Lit Monitor - $329.60

Just noticed that this monitor dropped to an all-time low on Amazon. I'm not sure how good it is for gaming, so make sure you do your own research. The model is about 3 years old.

LG's product page.

Pretty good reviews on Rtings: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27ud68. Rtings reviewed the black coloured version, whereas Amazon is selling the white coloured version.

Based on reviews, the LG 27UL650 would be a better buy. $355.99 at Canada Computers right now: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=140387
Rtings reviewed last year's version of the 27UL650: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27uk650-w

The UL650 is great for productivity, but gaming at 4K would require some serious graphics card power.

stay away! Only 1 year warranty while other manufacturers give 3-4 years. Reviews never mention dead pixels or DOA or other issues. Mine died after 14 months...
If you are set on it, do spend on at least 1 extra year or warranty service, but hopefully more.

Buy with a CC that offers an extra warranty. I have the 2018 650 for 1.5 yrs. No issues. Also got a used 59P and no issues.

Buyer beware with LG. If you happen to buy a "USA" model, basically you void your warranty and LG will have nothing to do with you. Pay the extra $ and go with Samsung any other brand.

I’ve had this monitor for about two years now, used mostly for work. A very good 4K entry level monitor, especially at this price. No complaints here. Paid about $500 back in 2018.

There are an alarming number reports of corners burning bright red suspected from humidity and poor sealing. These sadly don't seem to last. A shame because this would've been a great deal otherwise. Maybe our friends up north will have better luck.

Good question, there doesn't appear to be a defined list. I found out by buying one from B&H Photo Video and trying to get service in Canada. The Canadian authorized service centre refused to touch it - said it didn't appear in their list of models.

Nobody is saying everyone will have issues. These new electronics these days are so complex, chances of them lasting for many years are slim and there's a good reason why a company like LG only gives 1 year warranty while others 4 years. They don't trust their own products and while your may work, others may not be so lucky and your 1.5 year old piece can die any moment and it's not an indication of everything being ok. There's just no reason to go with LG since others often offer same stuff at similar price with more warranty. And if I ever buy an LG product(not likely) I would sure make sure to add extra years of warranty to match other manufacturers. Though I am sure it would be more expensive so this is why I will just stay away from them. No reason to trust a brand that doesn't trust their own products. As simple as that!

What baffle me is that their high end products (OLED TV) are also 1 year warranty... What a slap in the face.
