X50CrMov steel or so they tout.

This also was $100 up till recently, but their own website says SRP is $45.95 (USD) on "sale" for $40.95.

Eh, I'll bite. If anything it'll make a decent beater or free, if not it says right the listing:

If you see "German steel" printed on the knife, that means it's just a crappy Chinese made knife.

links to a totally diff product now, maybe they pulled that product. $9.99 sounded pretty cheap considering what their MSRP + Amazon had it on for $100 for the longest time.

Got a totally different product in mail. Got Linoroso Paring Knife 3.5 inch Small Kitchen Knife.
Any ideas on what my options are here?

Amazon's returns are easy. Just look for your order and click on return, choose your reason, print your label and send it off for free to where it says to (Canada Post/UPS for my location). I keep the receipt until I get notified of the refund.

Maybe try to contact the seller first? The cost to ship another is more than the cost of the knife sale price. Perhaps they'll let you keep the paring along with sending you the proper one.

That's the usual annoying effect of inflation. Instead of increasing the price, they reduce the quantity/quality instead.

Ditto got today the wrong knife. The reason maybe the wrong label they added on the box (label says 7 inch + oak block ...). Return is easy, Amazon offers come to pick up for free.

During the "returning" process, I searched for this 3.5 inch Classic Paring Knife (it has "normal" handle), felt I need it in my kitchen, it often sells at >$20, review is good, so I decide to keep instead.

Ditto here. Got the 3.5 inch paring knife. For $10 I'll keep it.
