[Amazon.ca] Little Giant Ladder 22' Ladder with Work Platform (23%off)

This is my first post.

I’ve been watching for this ladder for a long time, according to CCC, now it is the best price. Costco also selling a 17 ft one and without the Work Platform for 269.99. Here is the link of Costco

REALLY good pricing, I paid $172.65 from Amazon without the platform in August......and then picked up the platform in the USA (Home Depot) for about $30 CDN. This is basically the same price without the hassle. The platform is quite expensive in Canada.

Great price for a great ladder. I paid 217 last year and this is the first time ive seen it cheaper.

Note that the name is a little misleading... it is actually 'only' a 17' (maybe 19'?) when used as an extension ladder.

May I ask why you think free shipping is a surprise? It's only 40 lbs. Couriers deliver mattresses, sofas all the time.

It's high quality and doesn't feel flimsy, even extended the whole way. It IS in fact pretty heavy.

Its supposed to be a swiss army knife of ladders. Step, extension, stair, and platform ladder. Also i believe its rated 1a for 300 lbs.

Just make sure that all the joints are well locked before use. Lots of injuries from improper locked multi ladder.

Was waffling on getting an extension ladder or something like this but since this isn't much more $ on sale, I'll give it a try. Tx OP.

These little giants are definitely higher quality, and this is definitely a great deal, but for comparison, I'm pretty happy with the 21' Mastercraft I got for $120 when it goes on sale @ CT.

Do you use the platform often? I'm wondering how good a deal this really is if the platform wouldn't get used much. For an extra $15-$30, you could get a Werner or Featherlite 22' multi-ladder with a 1A rating without the platform. Not that I weigh anywhere close to 300 pounds, but the sense of security on a stronger ladder is nice and I doubt I would use the platform, but maybe I'm wrong.

I believe that this one is good for 250lbs.

The platform is really handy for certain tasks such as painting or mounting something high on the wall. Although you can do it without the platform, using it gives you more maneuverability.

I only bother standing on the platform when the stepladder is extended and I know I'll be up on that single narrow rung of aluminum for a while with stupid footwear. But it's also useful on the opposite side to hold paint cans, window washing junk, tools, cocktails, etc.

Remember the weight rating includes any crap you're grunting onto the ladder as well. If you're a 245-pound beefbarron and loading shingles onto a roof, that's probably an extra 65 - 75 lbs per bundle.

FYI, the Alta One series has been discontinued by Little Giant:

"** As of January 1, 2018, the Alta-One product line has been discontinued in favor of new, lighter and stronger technology. All warranties are still in effect on items sold."

Source: https://www.littlegiantladder.com/alta-one/

Still a great deal on the ladder and platform bundle and didn't stop me from ordering.

I debated between the Alta One and the Velocity series which is a Type 1A (300 lb rating). Some pretty good pricing on the Velocity series too at Amazon (albeit without the platform):
17' ---> $206 ---> Edit - Now $174
22' ---> $235 ---> Edit - Now $223
https://www.amazon.ca/Little-Giant-Mult ... 15D3X&th=1

Note the Velocity 22' was cheaper on BF at $202. Kind of kicking myself for not pulling the trigger then but this deal will do.

The picture shows wheels on the ladder but the description doesn’t say anything about wheels. I really hope we get the version with wheels:
