[Amazon.ca] Lodge LCC3 Logic Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Combo Cooker - $50.99!

"Hot" price for a 3.2 quart (3L) combo cooker. These are $90+ elsewhere, and $51 is an near all time low as per 3C. Comes pre-seasoned and ready to go, cant go wrong with this US made cast iron set, will last a century or more if well taken care of!

It's $59.99 at Costco currently, so definitely a good price.

Have been toying with this one for a while, but that extra $10 off does it. Thanks OP

$60 is a good price too, I've never seen any Lodge products at any Costco stores in SW Ontario though...

What is the actual size without the handles, if anyone already has them?

I guess "currently" might be a bit off... I looked through my photos, and I took this one on Nov 12. In Winnipeg though, so not even sure if I could still buy this (essential or non-essential?).

I've seen them at Costco before, and I have a vague memory that they may have gone down to clearance prices, but that was at least 2 years back.

On the list for Manitoba, it said food and food prep items are essential.

I couldn't find anything but on the Lodge site they recommend the 10.25 inch glass lid.

Just a heads up that this is the 3.2qt size, which is substantially smaller than the 5 or 6qt size most people would think of as a "standard" dutch oven (that you might use for stews or baking bread).

Agreed. I purchased this earlier and returned it because it's not that big. Probably okay for medium sized portions but I'd say it's too just on the small side for baking a loaf of bread.

I am still reading about bread making but for example in the video posted above, 900grams of flour are used in this 3.2qt combo, and the bread turns out what I would call a large size. I've been also reading that you don't want too big of a dutch oven, as the size forms the loaf as it rises, and the sides help the loaf crisp up as well.

Also in the video, the oven time is 40 minutes total, so you could easily crank out several loaves in succession.

Happy to hear from someone that has experience as I only have youtube education at this point.

I’ve been baking a modified NYT recipe with sourdough for years in a 3 qt enameled Dutch oven. My loaves are 1 kg before baking and 900 g after. Bigger than that is not really needed. If I’m making more for others then the 2nd Dutch oven...

Also for beginners preheat the Dutch oven for at least 40 minutes at 475 degrees. After a stretch and fold I do my final rise in a bowl same size as the Dutch oven lined with baking parchment, which makes it easy to transfer (and easier to release). Bake with lid on for 30 minutes, remove the lid and lower temperature to 425 and bake another 30 minutes.

I have 2 of these combo cookers.

If my wife wouldn't kill me, I'd get a 3rd.

Fantastic for baking bread, smoked mac and cheese...

Highly recommend!

This is a great price and I was waiting for it to drop but was gifted one. On top of great bread and breakfast items don't forget to fry up some chicken as well in one these!

I have the 3qt and 5qt with the short handels.
I use the 5qt most of the time its great for 500 - 1000g loaves.
Fun one from this morning, I tried to make a loaf in the instant pot with the airfryer lid...

Dammit. I just bought one so I can use that sourdough starter in my fridge even though I know I definitely won't be baking much bread. My previous dutch oven was such a PITA to slide the loaf in.
