Lots of people on RFD like various benches, this one included. Reviews look pretty good on Amazon. Excellent price for this bench (lowest I've seen). Most people should be fine with the 550lb weight capacity.

I paid full price for this bench and I love it. Near 50% and <$100 is a steal these days.

Wow this is hot! I bought it a last month for $150 on sale but now under $100, it's a killer deal.

Thanks, OP. At this price, it's a no brainer - even if people are saying it has some fake reviews in previous threads.

Oh, is it mostly fake reviews or what?

Is this better than that Cap stuff?

Bought, thanked! Hot deal. I love that it can do decline (for decline bench presses and ab workouts). I also like that it locks into various positions with a pin, which is a little more time-consuming but a lot more secure especially for a budget bench.

I don't think those reviews are fake. Fake reviews are usually one or two liners and they read like generic, and non-specific thoughts. For example "this is a great bench" without going into the specific reasons for why this is a great bench. They also don't specify any drawbacks, so everything is perfect. The reviews on this product, at least the first few pages, are lengthy, varied, and go into depth on the product. They read like genuine reviews.

Before buying I suggest taking a look at the one-star reviews. Lots of recent reports of the bench collapsing in half under 300-400lb load

I was going to post the deal but decided not to cause it could lead to some serious injuries.

Oh, yeah, those are genuine but could be paid reviews. Is there some kind of gym equipment site with reviews for this?

Edit: This is the one I was looking at: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01N0HD4EO/

Which bench would be better? This Cap bench has a lot of 1 star reviews, and it has a 300lb limit

As with many things, something like this that's not a big name brand with 1400+ reviews will definitely have some fake ones. Not saying it's a bad product, just do your research...

I think you might be right. At the start, they will often distribute the product for free to get the reviews going. This is prohibited by Amazon (because that's what Vine is for), so the company risks being de-listed.

Anyways, since it's $100 bucks I figure it's worth trying out. Can always return if it sucks.

Thats the problem with Redflags site. Thousands of products are bought from this site but says six months to a year later those who bought are not able to post their reviews for others to see.

People can post reviews of products they bought years after the purchase, assuming the product is still listed. But generally, people post product reviews in the first few days, which plays into Amazon's and the manufacturer's hands. At minimal, I wish people waited 1 month before reviewing.

From the sound of the negative reviews, there may be a weight limit issue. At this price, I would be ok with it but I'd probably be nervous beyond 250 lbs. No one in our family will be using it to that weight so I'm considering it; just thinking whether I should get something higher quality and capacity for the future or wait until then...

I have no experience with that one. I figure I will try the one for half price since I will only be doing lighter weights. Most of the reviews that talk about it collapsing say total weight was over 300-400lbs. I'm not sure what they weigh and how much they were lifting, but in general I think it's nuts to try to lift over 80-100 pounds on a budget bench.
