That's a fantastic price for this rain jacket. I got one last spring, it's great. Had it out camping in the rain recently, stayed nice and dry. Plus, armpit zips!

Gave my son my north face venture so I needed another rain jacket.

Didn’t want to get an arcteryx beta sl as it’s a bit overkill but for $40, cant complain.

Some sizes and colours available at Sportchek for $78. Black has the most size options with the other colours having S or XL left only. Not as good at $40 but good price for someone who wants a black one (or the maroon imo).

I have this one, and it's a good buy for under $50. Useful for urban rain and a bit of outdoors, very good as a wind layer. Don't expect gore-tex waterproofing though.
If you want to spend a little more, the North Face Venture is more waterproof.

Didn't get this one (no L), but got the Marmot lime green rain jacket for $40.
I like the color and will keep if decent quality.
