Someone voted bad product or service.

Is it because of Amazon or Merrell?

Personally, I feel Merrell has sadly cut back a little on quality such that their boots only last a few months/season compared to what they used to before (years).

I still feel that they are quite good, it's just that the term of say winter season boots is more of one winter season boot.

Anyone else have comments on the brand?

I prefer sidewinder or danner.

Police / ems boot.
Light. Waterproof. Non metal safety toe / plate. Looks good. Comfortable.

Amazon seems to be price matching Merrells site. Just in case you want a different size

Don't like that zipper on the boot. Obviously it's just another point of failure...who zippers up a boot?

I had a pair of moabs a while back (not these specific ones) and the quality was really not up to par. While confortable at first they started falling apart after a 2-3 months and were completely unserviceable by 6.
I'm wary now about anything from merrell. I'll stick with ecco, danner, lowa, salomon etc

i think, in general, Merrell products aren't as high quality as they used to be. It's still my preferred shoe , but i do notice they don't last as long as they used to

True. No clue about a "tactical boot".

I wear boots for walking around...

Ie Lowa Zephyr.
Salomon Forces.

No zipper on the side.

What is the zipper for?

Easy way to put your boots on or take off without dealing with laces. Sounds like nothing until you do 12 hours in your boots

It saves me time taking my boots off after returning home from my adventure to Walmart. The tall "tactical" boots complete my look along with my cargo shorts and knee-high white socks.

I save precious seconds so I can enjoy my fresh bag of chips and candy.

Knee high white socks go with the tennis/deck shoes . Knee high black socks for the tactical boots.

Come on, man! The uniform requirements are pretty strict about this. Don't make me report you because I will. Just need to figure out the camera on my new phone.

You're clearly new at this. Once you reach the level of "Walmart Rascal Scooter", you switch to white.

wouldnt any construction job require you to wear safety boots?

i could see EMS workers wearing these, but i feel they are too light duty for a lot of other 'tactical' jobs.
i was in SAR and nobody would wear a pair of boots like these, they're not tough enough and not waterproof.
presumably cops also wouldn't use something less durable than we did.

Zipper boots were issued for basic training. Granted the quality of them were poor and zippers frequently blown out. I now wear Lowas for 12 hr shifts. I don't know what you are all high and mighty about tho.
