To those saying this is a first party Nintendo game, it was developed by MercuryStream... That said it's a great game. I highly recommend it, I didn't know they still made well-crafted 2d action shooters like this anymore until I played it.

Fair point. There are just SO many Metroidvania games these days, it's hard for me to justify $50+ for this game.

So what's your point?
Nintendo has a long history of doing that. Heck, half their "1st party" games are not developed the Nintendo development studio but farmed out to other developers. Games like Luigi's Mansion (developed in Vancouver actually), Hyrule Warriors, Mario Party, Mario Golf ... the list goes on.
Take a look at this list:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category: ... only_games
if you click through any of the titles, half of that list was not developed by Nintendo EPD
What's important is that these are Nintendo IP and Nintendo has a strong say in the development and quality.

Is this what it said for everyone else when they ordered:
Missing shrink-wrap, activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Item is in original packaging, but packaging has damage.

It was one of the best games of 2021 for sure (was also super surprised by Psychonauts 2, different genre)
Anyways, if you like metroidvania games, I highly suggest both Ori games! Beautifully crafted, tight controls
