[Amazon.ca] MicroSD 128gb $43.55

Had a ccc alert for this we'll reviewed 128gb micro SD card. This seems to be the lowest price ever.

I hope it stays this way for a while.

It's showing up as 48.11 for me, but I see the 43.35 price listed where the card sizes can be toggled to 32, 64, etc. Anyone else?

Never trust these cheap generic cards no matter who sells them. Most likely is 4gb but is modified to show up as 256gb.

In store...

You can check out the pic on inferno_gn's (Ju Leon) latest weekly costco thread. It's the Second to last photo, on the second row of pictures.

Sorry, but I won't post a direct link to his photo, out of respect for his hard work every week. Go to the thread and you will see it.

Please do a sequential write and read test and report back the speeds - it would be interesting to see

Sorry to tell you, but I'm 99% sure you got scammed. Seems to be the same card as these: https://www.amazon.ca/Memory-Adapter-Mo ... B01M8L38I2

On Amazon, there seems to be a bunch of fake reviews and then real reviews complaining that the card is only 8 GB and is just formatted to appear as 256 GB. Please write a decent amount of data (ex 16 GB) and see if the card loses your data, as I believe they just overwrite the old data after the real capacity.

Thanks OP.
Please edit your thread title.
Try to learn a few basic rules: put the brand in the title (SanDisk) and the model (Ultra, Extreme, High-Endurance, etc.). For memory cards, it would also help to mention the read/write speed in the title.
Otherwise your thread title comes across as clickbait.

It's fake. Probably a 2-8gig card with the controller modified to report the false capacity. Run a h2testw test on it.
Never buy usb drives/memory cards on eBay.

Though the USB reader sucks since it's USB 2.0. I really don't understand why they did that because on the package I think it says something like "80MB/s" in big print yet the reader they give you will never give you any such speeds, even sequential read. So this ends up with a lot of ppl complaining it can't get to those speeds, no doubt, all because they cheaped out on the card reader. TBH it's a useless addition in this day and age. Even myself having multiple PCs in the house, most of them being older (with like 3 Lynnfield systems), nearly everything I have still has USB 3.0 on it. It's not like it's anything new, yet they give you a USB 2.0 reader?? Not sure what they're smoking.

That^ rant aside, it's much better buying from Costco than even "shipped and sold by Amazon" because there's no chance of inventory co-mingling netting you a fake, like there is with Amazon. I'm pretty much dead set on buying SDs only from reputable B&M locations these days. Just not worth the bother, hassle, or waste-of-money getting a fake.
