[Amazon.ca] Microsoft Surface Pro X 8GB 128GB SSD WiFi 4G LTE Black Certified Refurbished - $649.00 [-19%] Reg $809.99

I'm not sure if this is really a deal but it comes with a 90-day supplier-backed warranty.

It is the tablet itself without the keyboard however it comes with 4G/LTE slot which makes it typically more expensive. I've been on the hunt for Surface Pro X and Pro 8s and this is the cheapest I've seen from a retailer.

I've seen Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace resell for $500 with a keyboard (without 4G/LTE though)

Edit: rugerty100 has found a cheaper price at 629.99 from Best Buy Business:

Awesome tablet, I have one and love it, absolutely worth it.

If only it was true.

I did own one, but ended up returning it. I don't know why I keep hoping Microsoft will get ARM right one day.
It's more like an expensive Chromebook running Microsoft services tbh.

Useless without a keyboard, so add $200.

MS's x86 translation layer by software sucks. Nobody is building apps for Microsoft Windows other than legacy x86 and even there they have to start introducing Android apps.

At this point, I think it needs to be $650 BNIB to be border line worth it. A $300 chromebook is probably just as useful as this thing.

At the minimum it should include kb for this price, tablet alone really limits its usefulness.

Kinda shifty they always picture it with the kb but requires a separate purchase.

You can pick these up refurbished at Best Buy for the same price - they're refurbished by Microsoft and include the 1 year warranty

I have had one running Windows 11 for a couple weeks now and I have not run into any apps that did not work on the ARM CPU or emulation layer. I believe Microsoft made drastic improvements to this on Windows 11. Very responsive CPU and very impressive battery life.

With this tablet is Windows S mode, can we still install Chrome or Edge desktop browsers with the usual extensions?

Thank you.

Update: Looks like Edge is the way to go.
