[Amazon.ca] MSI Gaming Radeon RX 5700 Evoke OC $469.99 (less $30 rebate)

This is a "Limited time deal" at Amazon Canada!

OK, not an amazing deal but it's the lowest price this AIB card has been according to 3xcamel even without with the rebate. For comparison, this card comes within $40 CAD of Newegg's U.S. price with it's current promo and rebate.

What's nice about this card is that it can be flashed with the XT bios and overclocked and comes with the current gaming bundle of BL3 or Ghost Recon +3mth Xbox Game Pass. MSI *should* have fixed the high temperature issue due to small thermal pads which plagued the initial launch of their XT variant so the card works well to keep things cool compared to the OEM blower versions.

The bad? You're dealing with a rebate to get the best price. It's back ordered until the 10th. If MSI didn't fix the thermal pad issue with your card, there's an exchange program which means more downtime. The colour may not be your cup of tea.

The rebate is only good for purchases from Nov 27 to Dec 6 though MemoryExpress seems to indicate a second rebate going on from Dec 1 to Dec 31. BTW, you can't combine both rebates at MemoryExpress for $60 which is erroneously show on their product page. The rebate is only good for Newegg Canada, Amazon Canada, MemoryExpress and Canada Computers I believe (the rebate at Newegg Canada lists all the applicable retailers).

Does the rebate make it $439? The price is already at $469.

Sort of... you pay $469.99 and taxes and enviro fee. Then the rebate lowers your overall costs by $30 =)

* Edited to clarify rebate pricing *

Microbyte's RTX 2060 for $250 was a deal but they cancelled it. RX 580 for $99 came back in stock so I ordered it but still haven't heard from them. The estimate delivery date is today so I'll find out today.

If the RX 580 gets cancelled too I might have to settle with a 5700. Still not sure if I want to drop $500 tax Inc for a video card now when the PS5 is coming out next year.

I've been wishing for the same... but I jumped on this deal last night. With Amazon's easy return policy, I won't open it until I see what prices and deals come up in the coming weeks.

For the time being, I'll have to make do with my Asus Strix Vega 56, flashed with 64 bios, undervolted and overclocked that I paid $620 for during the mining craze =P

Evoke series cards had the thermal pad issues (none on the back and half sized misaligned on the front) that they then changed the design (and allowed free exchanges) on and according to Gamer Nexus they're "OK" now. Price will need to drop a lot on the 5700 XT let alone the 5700 before I'd grab one myself.
