[Amazon.ca] MSI GEFORCE GT 1030 2GD4 LP OC $139.99

Brand MSI
Graphics coprocessor NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030
Video output interface DisplayPort, HDMI
Chipset brand NVIDIA
Graphics RAM type DDR4 SDRAM

Probably going down in flames for posting this, but it is the only 1030 I could find, especially at a decent price. I just needed a dedicated video card for dual display as my 4600G CPU somehow failed graphics output for a work computer. Got fed up and went to a dedicated graphics option.

Sold and shipped from Amazon.

Upvoted this, not everyone here is a gamer/miner. Complaining about this is just like people complain all the time about monitors/laptop without 144hz.

The DDR4 version is $140. How old is this card now? Yikes! Sad times. :(

Some need a discrete graphics card so they can get the PCIe 4.0 lanes instead of PCIe 3.0.

DDR4 version DO NOT BUY. I have the 1030 GDDR5 version and it's actually impressive for what it can do. Plays 7 days to die, AOE DE, GTV V, Skyrim... I paid $130 on Amazon for it and put it into a HP SFF. It's about the same performance at a 750 TI. But the DDR4 should under under $80.

Low profile man!!! Can you guys read properly??

There are Dell small form factor pc etc that can't fit a full height card!

The only other cards with gtx label are 1050/ti and 1650 low profile, nowhere to be found unless paying absurd prices

I don't understand why people post stuff saying "better to get a 3060"

Yeah, I might have bit on this if it had better RAM. It fits the rest of my criteria: not too long, single height, and two HDMI/DisplayPorts.

The DDR4 is bad enough, but it's only 64-bit memory! That's absolutely brutal.

Because of the Maxwell chip architecture its Passmark scores are actually pretty impressive for this: 2,550. Although I'd bet that score is closer to the GDDR5 version than this DDR4 one.

As a comparison, the Passmark score for the integrated graphics on a desktop 11th gen i5 is 1,780. Even on a laptop with an 8th gen i5 (U series) CPU it'll give a score of 1,740. The consensus used to be don't ever bother with anything below a xx50 card as it wasn't worth spending any money on. With the insanity of graphics card prices that had to go out the window.

If your CPU's integrated graphics can't handle what you're doing, or you want to add a card to bump up the number of monitors you can use (older CPUs would do 2 screens, more modern will do 3 - so a card like this would add 2 more monitors) than I can see the point, but consider putting the money towards a new computer instead.

A couple year ago I was getting screen tears on my HTPC - with its i5-3570K (10 years old now) - so I put a (spare) crappy Quadro 600 in it: no more tears. If anyone just needs a low end graphics card and doesn't want to buy an expensive new one I've got a handful of Quadro 600 cards. Pickup in the evening at King & John in Toronto for $15 (PM me). For reference these are single slot, low profile, dual monitor (full sized DP and dual link DVI ports), with a fan and a Passmark score of 700.

Does the bracket for LP included in the package?
It seems although this is LP card, but it only fits the normal form factor PCs, instead of small.

No we're complaining it's still absolutely absurd to pay for hardware at the same price half a decade after release even with the current market situation. If people are seeking for a basic display adapters there are better options in the second hand market that can provide the same thing for 1/3 of that price, possible salvaged off some old desktop and in working condition.

Im happily playing 5 and 10 year old games on the fanless GDDR5 version at about the same price a year ago.

Im an AMD fanboy but Ive been burned with real stinkers trying to figure out their budget card numbering system vs bang for buck.
