This is basically a commercial product. Niche but valid.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

Is there anything this can do that cannot be done on a cheaper 4900H+rtx 2060? Is it just driver and hardware certification and validation for the quadro that is driving the price? Is the quadro that much faster?

My work lap is Dell precision 7720 and I don't think my company paid more than 4000 for it.

Comes down to the specs in that 7720. What do you have in it...(from 2017/2018)?

...by saving $500 if you were going to spend $5700 + tax.

If you weren't going to spend $5700 + tax, then you still have that in your pocket (No saving...as you weren't spending anyway).

Currently, a Dell Precision 7750 (when spec similarly) is at $6900 + tax - 2% ebates (The customize option isn't available with the 7550 for some reason). A ThinkPad P17 (when spec similarly) is at $7400 + tax - 9% ebates

Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

My 7720 is almost 3 years old and even by the time it's not a top notch one: i7 6820hq, 32gb ram, 500gb Samsung nvme ssd, FHD screen, dedicated quadro graphic card...It's running almost 24/7 before pandemic. Even now it's a strong work horse for 3d engineering design. In engineering world, I didn't see anyone using a MSI laptop.

What general RFD users don't understand is that a consumer laptop with higher specs isn't designed for use in the commercial space nor do they understand the pricing for CAD workstation setups. You're comparing apples to watermelons. The price for this is good given the hardware. Nice find OP.

How good is the Quadro RTX 5000? Is it mainly good for cad programs and high-end apps. How does it compare to the rtx series nvidia cards. I know it's an apple to apples comparation.

And damn 64gb of ram that's crazy.mm for a laptop.
