If I remember correctly 475g is $8-$12 depending on if there is a sale. Or not.
But not everyone has a Costco membership.

Personally I prefer Taster's choice.

I thought I saw these on sale at SDM all the time. If you combine personal coupon offer (20% off in points, YMMV) with 20x or bonus redemption events, you get a much better deal. For us, we used to drink this but we have moved to Nescafe Gold a few years back and we haven't been back since

Do these still taste like hot tar, like they did 15 years ago?

Never tried hot tar so not sure, but this has a sour taste to it which I don't like.

Same, I switched over to the Nescafé Gold (Espresso) and only get that now.

In the 90s, they had a reputation as an easy go-to, before K-Cups took over.

It's my belief that those liking the hot tar taste suffer from Stockholm Syndrome after a generation of exposure.

They're refreshingly bad, so they will wake you in the early morning.

I'm surprised there's still positivity over this abomination when Keurigs are everywhere.

To each their own, gents. More power to you.

This is one of the better tasting instant coffees out there. If you want bad, try Maxwell House.

Yeah I would gladly take 70g less and go for the Gold (Sumatra or Columbia) or Taster's Choice if I want decent Nescafe instant coffee. UCC 114 or 117 would be my go to if it goes on sale.
I regret buying that large tin of this normal version at Costco, anything more than a spoon just has an overly burnt/acidic taste that wakes you up in a bad way before the actual caffeine kicks in.

What's the caffeine in a coffee cup of these vs. something like fresh ground timmies/mcdz/starbucks beans run through drip machine or something like a phillips lattego (coffee setting)

Sometimes I just need a pick-me-up that tastes remotely like coffee and not an energy drink.

I think fresh ground is better and lattego requires too much counter space and maintenance if just for coffee. I prefer French press. Easy to clean and almost as quick as instant coffee.

This, instant coffee sucks, but Nescafé Gold actually makes a surprisingly good quality Americano with real crema. I keep these at work in the ER and feel like a budget conscious king at 3 AM with our department kettle.

So many coffee snobs on here. Instant coffee has its place if you want a quick cup of coffee in the morning. I actually like the decaf version of this (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01H3KK5FY?psc ... yp_imgToDp), but it's usually sold out whenever it goes on sale. This is a good deal for it delivered to your door. Thanks OP!

No frills has it on sale this week for $3.88 as well. I bought the French vanilla one which tastes pretty good for what it is lol.
