Airmilesshop currently has 20x airmiles so makes the newegg deal a little better.

I noticed CC accepts Flexiti which may be worth the extra 10$ to optimize cashflow !

Anyone has any experience in Quebec using Flexiti at CC?

Same here! Buy now, research later!

I’ve been wanting something to run my future Plex server and have read mixed reviews with this unit. Ill look into that more now that I’ve secured one!

Newegg with code CBFAY2282 is the cheapest/
Amazon.ca is a few bucks more then Newegg but with the simplicity and easy return, I made my purchased here.
CanadaComputers lack of choices.
MemoryExpress has $8.99 shipping.

Saw the WD Red + for $189 and then checked for the 920+. Was waiting for a drop (expected $599) so this is a great deal. My 218+ will be retired and sold.

Damn.. this is a crazy hot price but my QNAP TS-453Be from 2018 is still alive. If anyone has this DS 920+, can you let me know what your system and hdd temps are? Does it pull air from the bottom?

I modded my QNAP 453 a bit to improve airflow and my temps are in the 30s all around. It was originally pretty restrictive and hdds were in the 40s/50s. Was curious where the intake vents are on the 920+.

Idem here... yes that is a very good hot deal!
I was awake a big part of the night searching for this model after I missed the ME deal around 1AM by few minutes, but this AM I saw the camelcamel alert about it, and pulled the trigger...

Now I'll need some NAS disks...
I read that 5400 rpm are just good enough for those kind of NAS (mainly for making a central repository for files and backup. No need for Plex server or media library for now), and they are more quiet than the 7200 rpm
other than that, does the 5400 rpm drives produce less heat in average ?

What else should I know about the choice of NAS disks ? (note that I have a bias toward WD HDDs in general)

P.S. EDIT:
Finally ended ordering 4 of these from CC : Western Digital Hard Drive WD80EFBX 8TB 3.5" SATA WD Red Plus
Was: $349.99, Now $189.99
Savings $160.00 each

I have the same 453Be - may I ask how you modded it? I'm also considering upgrading to this for better performance, but may hold off if I can squeeze more life out of my 453Be
