[Amazon.ca] Nikon 20067 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6 G AF-P VR Lens $258.87

Nikon 20067 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6 G AF-P VR Lens

$258.87. Must select Amazon.ca as the seller. (Amazon.ca is an authorized Nikon dealer.)

Well reviewed Nikon 10-20 mm DX lens. Can also work with FX around 13mm

Review: https://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/10-20mm.htm

Note that this is an AF-P lens and will only work with newer Nikon bodies. (More information in the Ken Rockwell review.)

Sweet find. Thanks OP!

Been keeping my eye out for a general purpose wide angle and at this price, it's worth a shot.

I’ve been out of the game too long. This won’t even work with my D800 from 2012. I’ve always praised Nikon for keeping lens compatibility throughout the decades but I guess it’s a whole new age!

For those wondering, from Ken Rockwell :

"This works on the D5, Df, D850, D810, D750, D610, D600, D500, D7500, D7200, D7100, D5600, D5500, D5300, D3400 and D3300. Be sure you have the latest firmware on the D610, D600, D5500, D5300 or D3300; older firmware versions won't work with AF-P lenses.

This lens is useless because it can't focus in any way on any of the D1, D2, D3 or D4 series, the D800 & D800E, D700, D300 series, D200, D100, D90, D80, D70 series, D60, D50, D40 series, D7000, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100 or D3000. It won't work on any 35mm camera either."

if i pair this w/ D610, since it's FF, it will become 14-30mm, will the quality of the photos still outperform any iphone pro 3 lenses? is it worth to get it and keep switching lenses on my upcoming Banff/Lake Louise trip?

Great price. I shoot NIkon and Canon, I already have the Canon 10-18 though so I will hold off.

No, it doesn't become 14-30. It's still a 10-20mm lens, but you'll find you need to be around 13mm at the widest to be usable. So it becomes a 13-20mm for you.
Lens focal lengths don't change, but the field of view is affected by the sensor size (in relation to a full frame/35mm).
That's why we say a 50mm FF lens on a DX camera is "like a 75mm lens on a FF". The smaller DX sensor is what changes the field of view.

And another review of this lens from Thom Hogan. Recommended for its size/weight and value.

Price is excellent but it won't work with my D90. I'll stick to my 12-24 mm.

What breadcrumb said.

Look for the one sold by amazon.ca, which is still $258.87 as of 12:13pm EDT, not the 3rd party seller ($399.99).
