[Amazon.ca] NIKON D750 FX Kit + NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens --- Historic Low now: $1,914.00 (...Other retailers $2,400)

I had the Nikon D750 kit tracked via CCC and got a notification it is now on sale, below my desired price range.

Per CCC, this is essentially the cheapest it has ever been!
(PhotoPrice confirms this as well - see the graph at the bottom: http://www.photoprice.ca/product/05545/ ... price.html )

The camera is superb by all means. I had a chance to use it numerous times (my friend owns one, while I own D7k).

However, I'm second guessing myself and whether to pull the trigger and get it at this price point.

Namely, D750 is about 5 years old now. Also, Black Friday is around the corner - and although I don't think the prices could get any lower than this, I can't be sure.
Finally, there are rumours that D760 may be released in Q1 of next year (...of course the price will be much-much higher)

I was also eyeing Sony A7 iii, which now at almost $800 more makes D750 look more appealing... yet I'm torn between the two.

Regardless, hope this post helps someone who was looking for D750,

If any of you guys who have had a chance to use A7iii and D750 could you weigh in I would greatly appreciate that.

I'm keeping my eye out for the d750 on black friday as well. I hope this is an indication that the body only will drop lower that day or weekend. This is definitely a good price for the camera and a decent kit lens. Thanks

Ps. If you see any outstanding deals on the body only will you let me know? Thank you

$2000 bulky camera vs. $900 Pixel 4 XL... Looking forward to the day the camera technology on cellphones can finally kill off the DSLR/solo camera industry, it’s already getting close.

I don't think it's close. Cell phones have gotten so good that I can now comfortably leave my larger camera at home. That said, cell phone vs larger sensor cameras use two different design philosophies. A cell phone camera may use software to compensate for its sensor size and small optics. What you'll end up getting is a very stylized photo that looks pleasing to your eye.

It's different, and both have their strengths. My phone will take a great Instagram photo while my large sensor camera will take something I want to frame on the wall.

Haha, it's no where NEAR close. Especially when you're talking about this range of cameras.

Shows back up to $2,229.00 for me. Dead?
I'm guessing this was Amazon dynamic pricing at work.

I bought a d750 when it first came out, barely ever use it. Should probably sell it I suppose since its just collecting dust. Great camera, but I can't be bothered lugging around a back pack full of lenses and camera while travelling anymore.

The day they can fit a 35mm cmos on the back on a cellphone and not have a lens sticking out, we'll talk.

The D750 is an amazing camera! Pair it with a 35mm f/1.8 and that is all one needs. I sold mine 2 years ago for $1400. There are rumors that it's successor is just around the corner - therefore the price may go down even more.
