[Amazon.ca] Oculus Quest 64GB $550 - Back in stock

Finally decided to pull the trigger today, didn't order on Oculus.com since the shipping date was June. Amazon ships out much faster than Oculus (Arrives May 15 for me). But you have to pay taxes.

128GB also in stock for 700.

Yes. Using Oculus link cable or compatible third party cables.

Oculus has released huge updates since launch, for those wondering how it's changed:

Had one but sold it cause my laptop wasn't compatible with the link cable. I think I'll rebuy it when the walking dead comes out.

What's amazon's return policy on vr? Was thinking of getting from bestbuy and they have a 30 day. Idk if I want to commit $600 just to play beat saber rn

Better be careful, Bestbuy's website says they only accepts returns on unopened headsets.

Why don't you check on Amazon's policy and let us know?

There's way more games than Beat Saber; Pistol Whip, Box VR, Superhot, Space Pirate Trainer, Creed Rise to Glory to name a few can give you a fun workout. And that's just on the mobile side.

It's probably worth it just for beat saber to be honest, beat saber has an absurd amount of content with mods and custom songs.

i returned two Quests this weekend that I had purchased online from Best Buy. Had no problems with the one opened return I had.

What made you decide to return them?

Oculus Quest or Rift S?

I already have a psvr want to know if the wireless mode is really playable or it's a bad experience?

If you already have a strong pc get the rift. With the quest you will miss the comfort and the link.is quite capable but its added costs
id rather recommend the rift s as the plug on the quest isn't where its supposed to be it doesn't feel right. maybe to charge but not to play.
the next generation of standalone will be something to look for I am sure but if you intend on playing it right from the pc anyway the 1 cable from the rift s shouldn't bother you compared to the weight of the quest.

Returned one with zero issue to Amazon.ca. Have never had a problem with returns with them. Ended up returning it as I found that VR screen quality still has a bit to go. I get that it'll need to be like 4K screens or higher since you're like an inch from the screen, but otherwise it's a pretty great headset. I played some of Alyx on Virtual Desktop and it worked pretty darn well. I bought a micro USB cable that is supposed to work with Oculus Link and it was a bit janky. Disconnected on me a few times and didn't end up worth it. At least I have a 15 foot USB-C cable for my next phone lol. I say try Virtual Desktop first, if that works for you don't bother with the cable. You can return apps on Quest within a certain time limit (I believe under 2 hours, within 14 days). It was also hard going back to a cabled VR experience after being completely free. But aside from the screen resolution not quite being there yet, I think it's a great headset. Definitely tinker around with the headband though as it took me like a week to get it to be perfectly comfortable for me, but once I did I was able to wear it for a long time.

Oh it's fully playable wirelessly and great especially compared to PS VR (I owned one for a while before selling it). Just make sure the content you want is on it. But Beat Sabre modding is available right on the headset which is nice, and it works really well. Drawing out your floor is so seamless and quick too. Nice being able to bring it anywhere and immediately set it up in under 30 seconds. If you like PS VR but just want more freedom and a better headset all around, then this is absolutely a great buy.

i'm new to this... but i've read that I can get the Oculus Link cable and turn the Quest into Rift S...

can someone explain to me if that's correct? I don't have a good game rig now, but might get one in the future.

I bought my quest from facebook to save on the tax, got the device from UPS today! My very first VR device and the best investment I made this year! I bought it solely for half life akyx, my laptop is from 2015 with 5th gen i7 and gtx980m, barely able to run the game with very low graphics, But it works! Also bought the virtual deskp from the quest store so I can now wirelessly play my half life alyx!!!

I feel like I talked about this two posts back lol. Yes you can, but in my experience it's janky. Maybe not with the official cable, but that is very pricey.
