[Amazon Canada] Onkyo TX-NR777 Receiver - $399.99 + 8% ebates

For anyone looking for good home theatre receiver
I just order Onkyo 777 from Amazon for $399.99 + Tax

Bestbuy was selling 676 for $399 during boxing date, and it went OOS when I try to order.

This is not the newest model, as the newest model is 787, but 777 is a very good receiver.

$399.99 sure is hot price.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0725Q6JZH

UPDATE: I just cancel my order and re-ordered as ebates just started 8% rebate on all Amazon.ca order.

Additional 8% from ebates make it lava hot

Third party seller, fulfilled by Amazon.

Grains of salt are provided at the door.

I bought my 4K blu-ray player from that seller. Bet if you contacted them directly and purchased from their site instead, you might get a better price.

Hopefully they have fixed their HDMI issues. this was on an older one we owned, but a problem with many of their models. I ended up using it through component.

do you have to leave the receiver on 24/7 if you leave it in chromecast or spotify mode?

I would assume it does it from a standby/quick start mode like most TVs and receivers that have those functions.

That's different than HDMI pass through then? I know I can leave my receiver off, but leave it on hdm1 and it passes through my cable box video for example. I assume it uses some minimal power to do that.

noob question, how do you buy speakers for a receiver? usually you buy them as a set? what kind of specifications do I have to look at to make sure it's compatible?

Having a physical store is a good sign, assuming this seller is not an impostor and is actually the same business.

But generally 'fulfilled by Amazon' does have a higher general risk of unofficial or fake products compared to 'Sold by Amazon'.

nope you can buy them individually. 90% of the speakers will work with this receiver. They may not sound good though.
