FYI @michelangelo88 this one is slower transfer speeds if I remember correctly. I picked this up on Feb 5th for the same price as it is now. To me, speed is less important to stability and longevity. JMO.

They're both fine for an Xbox One X, the X doesn't do a lot of sustained writes in-game.

Great idea though, modding an Xbox One X and throwing in a 2TB SATA SSD.

Same for me as it’ll be for storage. Is this better for longevity vs the Elite?

That's what I'm thinking for the PS4. I have a 500gb HDD but a growing digital library. While I know that the PS4 sata still has a bottle neck in terms of speed, reviews show a fast load time.

So, do I get a conventional HDD...SSD or just an external HDD?

You sell your PS4 on Facebook marketplace and then buy a PS4 pro for like 100$ more on Facebook marketplace. Then you effectively boost your console specs and double the hard drive space for like $100 and then buy ssd after if you need it becuase PS4 pro can handle sata 3 which PS4 fat and slim don't do.

The Patriot Burst Elite 2TB is an entry-level but high-capacity 2.5’’ SSD, utilizing 64-layer 3D TLC NAND from Micron. Versus the P210, we found it as a better performer, succeeding to deliver sustained write rates for much longer, while the overall speeds were notably higher as well. This particular aspect does recommend the drive also as the bootable storage for older mainstream systems such as laptops, which do not support installation of NVMe models or as a secondary drive in the place of the pre-installed mechanical drive.
The cost-effective Patriot P210 SSD is ideal for people which are not interested in highly-sustained write speeds but more on capacity and this without breaking the bank. Its overall behavior is similar to the one we have seen with other QLC DRAM-less drives, meaning that until the SLC pseudo-cache fills up, the write speed will remain high but afterwards it will drop to as low as 13MB/s. This is a non-issue for most mainstream users and the drive is positioned correctly on the market price-wise.
Looks like both drives perform similarly for the first few hundred gigabytes, but then the write speed of the P210 collapses?

1.92TB Burst Elite doesn't slow down when filled but the 960GB Burst Elite does, odd. I should have bought the 1.92TB instead :(

I believe the early production units were TLC and thus data transfer rate doesn’t drop.
It’s totally possible the NAND cells got part swapped and use QLC now.
That being said for normal operations the pseudo SLC cache should be large enough provided the SSD doesn’t get too full.

This old review was based on TLC version but Patriot has swapped for QLC, don't expect sustained writing speed as in review, the two are pretty much the same.

I didn't read that part from the review. I didn't even know it was from a review let alone a very old review. I just looked at the screenshots only, lol. Indeed though that both the P210 & Burst Elite use QLC, are DRAM-less and suffer from slow down when filled. OP should mention this so potential buyers are aware.
