[Amazon.ca] Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3200MHz Kit $86.99

Great deal (relative to current prices) for a good 3200mHz 2x8GB kit from a known brand. I can't believe prices have gone up so much. XMP profile is slower than the tested/rated timings. Mine works fine at the advertised 16-18-18-36 by manually dialing it in at 1.35v.
From 3rd party seller: Highly Anticipated Electronics

Ordered it Feb 20, it was saying "Arrive by March 3" but got it in 3 business days. So YMMV in terms of how long the wait will be. This is better than most sale prices at brick and mortar stores.
Edit2: So our astute deal-hunters inform me that this particular RAM has been on sale for <$70 which would be a REAL deal in this age. So this is acceptable at best.

My previous kit had one stick that was bad so I they made me send both back, so I had to purchase a replacement for the time being. I'll probably end up selling it when I get it back (G.Skill X-flare)

True. Though generally "fulfilled by Amazon" is just as good for all intents and purposes.

Update the OP to correctly reflect that fact.

Bought this a couple weeks ago for $67.99. It regularly goes on sale for that price https://bit.ly/2NE6SWR

I'd recommend setting up a price alert for when/if this dips below $70 again. Usually the pricing lasts for about an hour or so.

The RAM works fine, just be aware the sticks are fairly tall, so you may want to look at other options depending on your CPU cooling solution.

Yes, it should work in dual-channel if that's what I think you are asking. (sorry if it isn't)

Ah, never noticed that. Just checked it, single rank.

Not really a deal at 87$, it's been $67 multiple times in the past two months.

Pro tip needed :

Got a dell G5 coming with a solo 3200mhz cl22 8GB stick (10400f h470 so no xmp and running at max 2666mhz)

Would I gain from this kit due to lower latency vs simply buying another 8GB from Dell to make it dual channel (would then run at cl22) ?

Price difference is a mere 20$ but still

Naysayers should have a look at the current market before poo-pooing this as not "hot". No time machines here, so based on what I'm seeing in the market at the moment, any 2X8GB set of 3200 sticks sub - $100 is pretty damn good.

We've been getting warnings for months that Ram prices were going to start creeping up, I suspect that's finally happened.

Pretty sure almost anything 8GB or less per stick is single rank. 16GB can go both ways, and 32GB sticks will almost always be dual rank.

it's been like a month since it was last seen at 68$, so 85 is still pretty good. I think the seller who sold at 68$ decided to raise their prices, so this is probably as good as it gets for now
