[Amazon.ca] Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine w/ LatteGo & Iced Coffee, EP3241/74 - $899.99

Don't know too much about espresso machines, but just wanted something that can make decent espresso, so I can stop buying nespresso pods. Not ATL but price seems all right based on other RFD threads on this specific model with the iced coffee feature (something I would enjoy during summer time).

Bought this one for my gf a month ago.
She loved it!! (I don’t drink coffee).

I like the inside of the machine. It’s like a printer’s drum, you can quickly remove it to replace some of the mechanics in case of failure.

I know… no Time Machine but I bought it For 755$ all-in, taxes and shipping included at www.consiglioskitchenware.com . There is some promo code on the internet to save you another 10% off (not sure they are still working). So it could be 899-89$ x 105%

Just got a used-acceptable one from Amazon for 510+tax to replace a nespresso machine, still within the first week but the coffee has gradually improved and I am estimating it's 1/3 cost of nespresso vertuo

This one is in my top 5 best purchases of all time. Have it for almost an year now, make 2-5 coffees a day, not a single issue so far.

Make sure to follow the cleaning schedule if you don't want mold to build up inside.

Wipe it down inside when you do the weekly rinse of the brew unit.

Just curious, do you really need a water filter in these machines if the water in you area is soft? And if so, can you at least increase the time between replacing it if your water is soft?

Thanks!

No, you don't need to use it but the you should make sure to descale periodically with the descaling solution ($10).

When you first setup the machine, you can check your water's hardness with the provided strip and then you enter that number into the settings. I actually cut mine into 2 strips to have a backup strip in case I need to set it up at a later date/location.

Note: the filter is supposed to be good for 5000 cups.

Have one of these at the office for the last 2-3 years, makes a decent brew. Not as good as the Breville with the same beans but less mess and hassle brewing. Cleaning these are a little more involved than a Breville. For an automatic under $1k this is my recommendation.

Picked this up for 750.xx in November. Love it and have saved tons of money from not buying Starbucks now.

Just a warning for used buyers...

I bought a used acceptable one off Amazon too, and it started leaking water in a few days. I called Philips to see if they could repair it, and was denied all warranty because it was purchased as used. Ended up having to return it to Amazon.

I actually registered my unit with philipps and got a 5 year warranty even uploaded my bill has no signs of showing it was bought used. Funny enough mine was leaking all over the place when I got it, I opened the back up and attached an obvious missing hose and all good now

I did the same and registered online. But when I wanted to get warranty work done, they replied back saying because the invoice said used, they will not honor any warranty and I would need to find a service center and all repair/shipping costs will be my responsibility. I'm just glad my machine broke within my return window.

How did you register with Phillips for that warranty? I tried but link kept giving me error message.

This model has an americano version (that’s the one I got, not the iced coffee one)

Bought a month ago and the coffee is weak. Tried a variety of different beans. Any advice?

Nothing special didn't even prompt for serial number, only asked for model number and optionally to upload the bill which I did
