It's back! Philips 7000 series shaver on sale for 25% off $149.99. Best Buy also the same. BB expiry April 18/2018. AMZN doesnt state. Works out to same price shaver being sold in HK a year ago. $1000 HKD or $169.48 CAD incl tax. Sounds like a good deal.

Like reviews for most shavers, the store reviews for this model are good and bad, probably due to users have different skin and facial hair. Hearing a comparative review would allow perspective.

The SH70 cutting heads (blades) and whole head assembly on this model closely resemble the top-end SH90 heads and related RQ12 head assembly. The SH90 and RQ12 are supplied from the factory with the Philips Series 9000 shavers. Can anyone compare the shave from this 7000 model to a 9000 (SH90 and RQ12) shave?

Also, the SH70 heads for this shaver are not as widely available as the higher end SH90 heads. As someone who uses SH90 heads (and never tried SH70), I wonder why choose this shaver over a comparably priced SH90 model?

I like my 9531 that I bought from amazon two years ago for $150. I'm not sure how the 7000 is different....this one has a different head design, but the 9000 heads are super gentle and have good closeness.

What I really need is a good deal for the heads, they are $70....that's almost half the cost of the shaver.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and not paying full price like Joe Shmoe did. This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

Let me guess... PRICE??? $399 cad vs $150 cad

S9860
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07J26HQSC/?cs ... lipsca1-20

Or the S9531. Still not cheap at $295.68
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00O1A ... EEQB&psc=1

Or the lowly S9311 at $223.99

I'm buying a Philips Norelco 9850 for 120$usd (AR) at costco.com. I'll get it shipped to a postal box at the border

I'm guessing the 9850 is better than the 7000??

Now THAT'S a nice deal. Sounds like end of year xmas clearance. AMZN uses discretionary AI pricing. Which means depending on buying and price pattern of goods in your history they either increase or decrease the prices on certain products. Not fair but that's the dealio. Astonished Face I noticed the price drop just 2 days after adding it to my cart. Whether it's coincidence or not I've had the same experience with other products in the cart.

Well, yea... the higher the series number the higher end the model. S9860 is their top wet/dry shaver.

Includes wireless Qi-charging compatible for iphones, androids.
Now you can buy a high end shaver includes wirleess charging for smartfones.

I have the SP9860/13 model and man is it smooth. Been using it everyday for a month and the battery is still at 58%. Only used the wireless charging once. I'm sure this S7710/15 model will function the same without the bells and whistles.

The best deal on a Philips shaver with SH90 heads is actually only $105 to $115.

https://www.amazon.ca/Philips-Electric- ... B0746P6Q8R

The above shaver was a promotional item created for the release of the Star Wars Force Awakens movie. It is labelled as a SW6700 and has the whole RQ12 head assembly from the Series 9000 models. I have an old shaver with the RQ12 head assembly and may consider the above as a replacement.

On a different note, I had not looked closely at the SP9860 shaver until now. It has a new body shape which departs from the style shared by the Series 5000, 6000, 7000, 9000 for the last few years. To go with the new shape, the SP9860 uses a new SH98 head which apparently takes the place of the SH90 as the top of the line. I only see the SH98 in Canada at the Mercury Shaver Centre (https://www.shavercentre.com/canada/philips_parts.html) and Best Buy Canada on EBay of all places (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Philips-Norelco ... 2584098029).

So a shaver with the RQ12 head assembly is available for under $115 versus the $150 model listed by the original poster.

kudos for Kevin3840 for the link of SW6700, i just bought 1 for 114$! He's right, the SH90 shaving head is featured on higher end 9000 series but also on the SW6700 for just 114$. I personally think the shaving head makes the biggest difference as the main body is just a motor with a battery. I've been using a old Philips dual head shaver for years and it just recently died, i think the battery no longer gave enough voltage to drive the motor, super psyched to try out my new SW6700

Seems like great price for "SH90 head" Phillips shaver...

Reviews on amazon.com are saying that front product looks used when received because of the design, not to be surprised Face With Tears Of Joy That's the only thing that makes me hesitant to purchase.

11% 1 star reviews out of 193 total reviews kinda sucks. lol. Waaay too high for any positive rated product. Normally you see 1-2% in the bottom ranked column. The body does make the big difference re: DURABILITY. Appears all neg reviews refer to battery conking out after a few months. You get what you pay for. *welp*

I first noticed Philips shaver models S6610 and S6640 on Amazon Canada about a week ago.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07PDTB6Z2
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07PFR55NT

The two models above seem the same except the latter comes with an optionally used charging stand. The shavers as provided use the SH50 head (Multi Precision). Both models are available at various stores so I believe these are brand new products. I asked on Amazon if the high end RQ12 and SH90 parts are compatible with the S6610, and Philips North America confirmed they are. This is not surprising since the S6880 shaver appears to be the same body with a factory-supplied RQ12 head assembly.

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco- ... B07NR8SGV8

I use an RQ12 head assembly on an old top-end shaver and have periodically asked Philips if any current, lower end model can take that assembly. I have never seen them acknowledge such a possibility to me or anyone. Their very short response on my S6610 question is the first time they have confirmed cross-compatibility!

In my opinion, if somebody wants a shaver with an RQ12 on top, the Star Wars S6700 at about $114 remains the best deal. For someone who is replacing an RQ12 shaver and whose blades are still usable, or they just want to experiment a bit with supposedly lower end cutters, the S6610 at $94 is the next best deal with confirmed compatibility.
