Worth getting automatic vs manual? Besides the features of course. Looking for long term, reliable and less maintenance.

It all depends on what you are looking for? We had both machines and they each have their pros/cons. I personally like the Phillips when I am heading out to work and can make a Latte while I make my lunch. The problem with the Phillips is that you can only steam a set amount of milk/cream. You can’t steam extra milk without grinding more beans and stopping the machine (basically wasting coffee). The Delonghi is fun to manually froth your milk (when you have the time) The Delonghi also requires less maintenance than the Phillips. The Delonghi does not keep the beans as fresh, since its lid doesn’t seal tight. I could go on about the two, but hope it helps your decision.

I got the philips 800 from best buy a couple months ago, most basic machine out there for $375.

I don't usually go for milk based drinks and loving the shots it's producing with Lavazza gran crema from Costco business center.

My only regret is spending so much money on Nespresso pods, and putting up with horrible k-cup coffee (once I was too cheap to buy Nespresso) for so long before purchasing this.

What do you mean by manual?

I think it depends if you want coffee as a hobby or just flick a switch.

You could try this

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fl ... ward=false

Or

https://cafune.ca/collections/cafelat-robot

Plus get a df 54.

A bambino is great too if you want milk drinks.

Just a hack if you want to steam milk without grinding more beans is to click your drink of choice, say cappuccino, then hold the button that gives you the option of using pre-ground coffee, deactivating the coffee bean button, then hit start. It will froth the milk only and remove the cup before the hot water starts to pour in.

I have the 4300 (last gen of the 4400) and it's been running strong making 4 to 6 coffees (mostly lattes and cappuccinos) a day for 2 years. I get Lavazza Super Crema beans from Costco and I'm very happy with the flavour.

Hmm...the 3200 latte go isn't working for me although I'm a prime member. All other links work, including the coupon.

I had a Barista Express for 5 years and I was very happy with it, but got tired of making 4 coffees every morning (me and my wife) (we also had a second baby which made the mornings a bit more busy) and switched to the 4300 Lattego and after 3 years I miss my old Barista Express (was already missing after about a ywar or so). Coffee is not as good and had to replace 3 parts already.

Just sharing, don't expect too much out of super-automatic coffee machines. Thanks for reading my story.

Tried 20+ different beans. Favorite one is St-Viateur blend from Café Union, for reference.

I've had mine for a year (3200 lattego), because I had some issues with my semi-automatic, but I don't blame you, it's not as good and it's plastic parts, at least there's tons of parts and youtube guides

The whole coffee subculture is interesting, but caffeine doesn't sit well for me.

If that weren't the case, I would be a coffee snob.

More power to those who thrive on it.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.
