This shaver is very positively reviewed and it's almost at a record low price.

This might be well reviewed, but at this price range for a shaver, I might as well get a lawn mower to shave my beard.

I have been using the Philips 7000 series shaver for 4 years now and still going strong, the usual price is 69$ for it but it goes on sale sometimes for 39$.

For people who uses Philips shavers, how do you find it? I have the Sensotouch 2D version from back in 2015 (which I think is close to the 7000 series) and I find it annoying that it always misses stubble here and there. And I'll be rotating the head on the same spot over and over and over and over (well, you get my point) and finally it'll get that 1 stupid hair. I find that it just keep missing way too much. This is my first electric shaver btw. Just thinking if a higher model would do better or I should try Braun next.

I have the Philips AquaTouch 890 from several years ago. It's a generally good electric razor in terms of battery life, longevity and feel. However, I also found the rotating blades left me wanting and patchy. The blades also miss a lot of stubble as well and I found myself also going over the same spot again and again -- especially my upper lip and jawline. I had a travel sized starter electric razor from Braun way back when and it worked a lot better than my Philips. I had to eventually upgrade since I couldn't get the foil or replacement head for my old Braun electric razor. Other than that, my Braun razor still worked like new. That's German engineering.

So far I have replaced the blades and the foils on my AquaTouch once and the retainer bracket comes loose easily now (it is an all plastic part after all). Thinking about replacing my AquaTouch with a Braun, but it's still a working razor on little to no battery degradation with no secondary market for such a product if I were to sell it second hand.

Overall, I did find Philip's style of razors (despite its "flexible and rotating" blades) doesn't give me a close shave as Braun does. Furthermore, I had to change my style of shaving from up-and-down/side-to-side to circular motions when using the Philips. And shave slowly because the razor can't keep up.
Why settle for full retail price when you can wait and get it at a lower price for better value (even better if there's a bundled freebies deal)? 😉
