Thanks @restoreDVD, was able to pick this up in-store with the $10 coupon and use up an old Staples gift card (man these are hard to use).
The extra $5 definitely seems worth it for the DRAM, better performance, and longer warranty.

I actually wouldn't be opposed to tossing it in my PS4 Pro and putting the 2 TB one I have inside as an external extended storage. I know there's a bottleneck on the SATA interface even in the Pro but it's at least one less moving part.
