[Amazon.ca] Preee hawt: Fuji X-T2 $1050

Great price for what is arguably one of the best all around cameras ever made IMO. If you don’t need the 4k/60 10-bit video of the X-T3, this is a great choice, 2 card slots, 1/8000th mechanical shutter (1/32,000 in electronic shutter mode), great build and handling and the photos are arguably nicer than the X-T3 with a bit less noise and (IMO) better colour output. I bought two for his and hers personal cams (we shoot Canon professionally).

Thank goodness I don't have the camera itch. Hearing folks talking about spending as much as a car on cam gear turns my stomach.

This is more my speed if I were an amateur photographer though. Thanks, OP.

That’s $1074 CAD and you may have issues getting it across the border. I tried to order the X-T2s from B&H for $799 US and they said they won’t ship to Canada right now because it has a battery?!?

I haven't bought a camera since my canon 6D a few years ago...I feel the camera itch coming though.

Camera is more likely for professional photography. Phone cam is getting more high-definition for our daily life.

This camera is is great for serious amateurs. Phone cameras are getting good, but they're still no comparison for the real thing. If you think an iphone is just as good you're not ready for a proper camera anyways. Use the camera you have until you start bumping into its limitations, then it's time for an upgrade.

With how incredible phone cameras already are—and improving each year—how much benefit is there, really, in buying a camera of this calibre? Point-and-shoot cameras in the low range category ($100 to $300) were overrun by phones 5 years ago.

As an owner myself, this is a tough price to ignore for an extraneous spare to save me from switching lenses.

If you're not shooting action most of the time, this is a killer deal. The af is ok, but it's more than enough for my needs (and my toddler).

Any idea how the AF is for sports? One reason I'm holding off on this is because the X-T3 is supposed to have superior AF for sports and bird watching.
