[Amazon.ca] Prime Day: Ecobee Smart Thermostat $279.99, $49 + 15% off (potentially $188.69, all-in)

Just got a notification from the camels, that this had dropped in price.

Price match with Home Depot, to use the Enbridge instant rebate (offer is done, but they are still available until they run out).

I just got the rebate from the site and signed up for the newsletter to get the additional $10 off. Cashier told me that Best Buy is matching the prime price and they will beat that by 10% (bless her heart). Price, all-in was:

$279.98
- $28 (10% price beat from BB)
- $75 (Enbridge rebate)
- $10 (Newsletter sign up)
=======================
$188.69

Super hot, in my opinion, when you pay way less than the before-tax price of the lite version ($219).

Edit: Still ends up cheaper than the Lightning Deal, if you buy the switch+, separately (for those able to take advantage of the Enbridge rebate).

Edit 2: For those that can't get the Enbridge rebate, your path should be to take the Amazon final price of $237.99 with no PM, as The Home Depot won't beat Amazon by 10%, they will only match.

Google just released their newest nest thermostat $180. Does any one know if enbridge $75 rebate will be available for this?

https://store.google.com/ca/magazine/co ... hermostats#

Cheaper price but doesnt have Nest Temperature Sensor or Self learning (which I read is useless?)

A) rebates are over, I believe
B) The new Nest is garbage, as it's just a glorified dumb thermostat

Can't get the price match or the Enbridge tax credit. Ends up more expensive, when you add the deal price and a separately purchased switch+

Not all of us can take advantage of rebates.

Fair enough. Those outside of the Enbridge zone should get the Lightning Deal, I guess.

I want to control the temp from my phone or voice and set temp schedule or away mode. What are some other features that I should look for in smart thermostat?

I doubt it. It's sold as a bundle. You could sell it, which is what I may end up doing.

When I go to the amazon site, it shows 279.98 + 15% off in the cart. So shouldn't they PM on $237.98?

Best buy or home depot?
Was this in store or online?

Yes, thanks. Updated the title to reflect this.

Went to Home Depot, with the intention of price matching Amazon, but PM'd Best Buy instead. This was in-store, as the Enbridge rebate and $10 newsletter coupon have to be redeemed in-store.

You could try to PM the lower $237.98 Amazon price, but I don't know if Home Depot will go for that. They may just go with the $279.99 price, so YMMV. They also only match Amazon, so the only benefit to a PM would be getting it locally.

Thanks for this OP. Just picked one up, got it for $188.69 all in. Home Depot refused to match Amazon, but I was cool with it.

I went to HD in afternoon and they PM'd to the list price of 279.99 and not in-cart price, store manager was adamant they can only PM to the list price. I didn't know BestBuy had same rate, missed out on additional 10% discount on it.

I was just able to go into Home Depot and price match amazon and then used the $75 enbridge rebate BEFORE taxes, which brought the subtotal to 162.98. Ymmv on this one but I’m glad it worked out for me. I also purchased the amazon deal with the light switch which I now I have to return

So I got it for $214 + tax homedepot by calling. Price matched the 237 amazon was offering and it looks like they gave me 10% off. Would not let me use enbridge as that was against price matching.

That's spicy hot... Nice job on getting that.
