Looks like a great product, a bit heavy. But I'm having second thoughts after seeing this:

From last you-tube video above:
"I'm a contractor and have a lot of ladders of all types and weight ratings. The little giant (and it's clones) are about the most stable step ladders you can buy and the adjustability of them makes them very useful.

But... DO NOT USE THIS AS AN EXTENSION LADDER! for one, a real extension ladder is easier to use and secondly, the real extension ladder is much safer. If you have one of these ladders or an extension ladder and your going to get onto a roof, have a buddy sit on the bottom rung"

That is the dumbest video I've ever seen. Looks like it was made by some angry competitor who was trying to discredit Little Giant ladders. They show themselves opening the box up, video tape the whole thing and clearly do everything they can to make the little giant look like crap. Even when he gets to the top of the roof and the ladder refuses to slip, he pushes off to make it slip. No wonder the video has so many thumbs down. If you believe everything you see on youtube I would recommend some critical thinking.

If you want unbiased reviews of this ladder, then look no further to Amazon.com. This ladder has 1219 reviews with a 4.5 star rating, and an "A" grade on fakespot. Basically that's as good as it gets on Amazon.

Don't have time to find a perfect quality video for you. All I'm saying there are many warning of using the ladder as an extension ladder. The ladder works great as a A-frame ladder.

Maybe you'll like this video more..

I think the problem is the way they are using it. However, it is also probably the weak point from the Little Giant Ladder. The ladder is moving because of the hinge. However, if the tip of the ladder leans against the wall, it shouldn't have this problem. Anyways, nothing is perfect. As long as people are using it properly, it should be fine.

I believe the ladder is good quality and support of 300 pounds is nice too. On the other hand, I believe it is a little bit heavy.

Sorry to revive old thread. I listened to bad advice and didn't buy this ladder, and now need it.

What are the nearest options?

Have to have a guy work on the stairs and do trim under the underside of the stairs above. Seems this ladder style is ideal.
