Don't buy digital Ps5. It is totally not worth the price difference.

I often find Walmart, bestbuy etc, sell physical copies of games cheaper than the listed price of digital on psn which Sony determines/sets its own pricing on psn.

For the 125 dollars difference, you are better off to buy the disc Ps5 model and have flexibility of buying both digital and physical games, whichever is cheaper. You also have the Ps5 as an additional bluray player.

Example:
Need for speed unbound.
https://forums.redflagdeals.com/walmart ... n-2597362/

$45 everywhere at the moment.

But psn store still shows $89.99
https://store.playstation.com/en-ca/pro ... RSPEED2022

Don't buy the digital model, you totally get locked down to how much Sony wants to charge for digital games.

When multiple non-deal ps5 options are posted daily…. It’s not a deal. Go start a ps5 supply forum.

Ok good thing I didn't bother. Saw it even before it was posted here, but didn't feel like making account. Glad I didn't regret it.

But as for this thread, nice to see non bundles available for more than a couple of minutes.

3 of the 4 editions in stock.

Digital
Digital + GoW
Standard + GoW

hopefully this is the last of these 'PS5s in stock' threads; they're available everywhere now.

Allow me to counter that with my opinion.

Don't hesitate to buy the digital version.
  • Sony does many sales on digital games throughout the year and you can plan for them since they come back around the same time every year.
  • Last sale, I was able to get 4-5 AAA games for 100$. Just have to be patient and plan you purchases.
  • You can share your game library with a friend/brother, essentially making all games you buy an additionnal 50% off if you alternate who buys what.
  • Switching game is as easy as just choosing it from the main menu VS getting up, changing disk.
  • The disk version is not a good blu-ray player for movie watching and lacks support for core formats.

I know you can buy digital games on the disk console. But for me, I'd rather wait for a sale on the digital one and not have to deal with the disk. I often switch between 2-3 games at any given time. I can't imagine how annoyed I would be to have to get up and start messing around with boxes and disks like I'm back to the PS3 era.

For PSN discounts, you'll have to wait a long time for a big sale. GoW was released in early November and there's still no sale while the used market is now selling for as low as $50.

One of the biggest advantages of physical copies is that you can resell the game after you're done. For example, I bought GoW for $60, I finished the game in 2 weeks, sell it back for $60. I just played the game for free.
