[Amazon.ca] (PS5) Yakuza Like a Dragon

Sold out on Best Buy and EB Games doesn't do online.

Deal went live this morning (on Best Buy and EB Games) but Amazon didn't change until recently. Only applies to the PS5 version.

EDIT: and it's gone...

It was posted on Twitter about a half hour ago. Got my copy as soon as I saw the deal heh.

Finally own all Yakuza/Judgment games. Now Sega needs to localize Kenzan and Ishin.

The PS4 version is on sale for 30 bucks... you can just get the free PS5 upgrade, correct?

I'm not an RPG guy, will I still enjoy this? Only one I've played is Yakuza 0. I'm aware that is a brawler while this is turn-based, which I don't normally do.

If you don't like turn based battles you won't enjoy the combat, story is solid though as are the mini games.

Thanks. Probably will skip this and just watch a playthrough I guess. I'm not into turn-based combat games unfortunately.

Ok thanks! Reading this thread though, I didn't realize it was turn based... I'll probably skip it too.

Managed to snag a Day Ichi steelbook from a local Wally recently. I had heard 7 was different but still a very good game from a friend who's a huge fan of the series. I believe PS4 does get PS5 digital upgrade for free.

That being said I now have 0-7, but no Judgement games, anyone play those have insight? I heard they didn't fare too well.

Have Judgement on PS5 and while I haven't passed it yet, it's still fun while a bit different.

There's only one Judgement title released. Its action brawler combat, not turn based. Having played every translated game in the series including spinoffs, its in my top 3 alongside Yakuza 0 and 7

from some cursory reading, trying not to spoil it for myself- it's set in the same city, but the story is totally different? Also since they have Lost Judgement now, I guess it is it's own franchise- I probably won't start it considering I still have 2,3,4,5,6,7 to get through at this point Face With Tears Of Joy

Judgment games going forward (there are talks that Lost Judgment is the last Judgment game in the series due to some of the most ridiculous bullshit ever) have the og Yakuza action gameplay. Whereas all Yakuza games going forward will be turn based.

Judgment is so much * fun, and highly recommended if you want a Yakuza game that is distinctly different. It has a lot of investigation elements to it.

I know Yakuza 0 was absolutely a gem. I even have the OST in my car as a testament to that.

I'll consider a bit if I want to start collecting what undoubtable will be another series Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes
