[Amazon.ca] PureBites Freeze Dried Beef Liver Human Grade Dog Treats, Made in USA, 1.2kg for $41.97

For those looking for training or extra treats for their favourite canine, you may consider the following (In for 2 bags):

Purebites Freeze Dried Beef Liver Human Grade Dog Treats, Made in USA, 1.2kg (9lbs.) for $41.97. Regular price is $89.35

This is essentially made with only 1 ingredient, Beef Liver only! Petsmart apparently has it for the same price, but it has no stock for my area and PetValu currently sells it for $89.99.

According to Chewy.com, PureBites guarantees the freshness of their Freeze Dried treats for between 2 and 3 years from the production date. An expiration date is stamped on all PureBites products as an additional quality step.

Also, don't forget to login to Amazon.ca with your favourite cashback/rewards website for e.g. Aeroplan eStore (5-7pts/$ depending on status) or Rakuten etc....

Isn't the one from Costco half the price and also pure liver?
Is this brand so better that can cost 4x? (Based on their regular price)

Edit: the one from Costco is 500g.

Costco is around $15 so it makes this not hot unless the quality is better.

I prefer to not drive to Costco and endure the wrath of $2 gas/litre :) Costco.ca doesn't seem to have it. But very good point. Free shipping goes a long way these days.

Chewmasters is the Costco brand: https://www.costco.ca/chewmasters-freez ... 69076.html . The delivered price is far more expensive than in store. IIRC the warehouse price is about $15 per 500g and goes on sale a couple times a year. I bought 5 bags a year ago for $11.99 each.

I have tried Purebites vs Chewmasters and the product is very similar - tbh side by side I probably couldn't tell the difference. They are both randomly sized pieces of 100% pure beef liver. Sometimes you get some fatty pieces in the Chewmasters bags which can make your fingers greasy, but I don't mind given how cheap they are. The only brand where I could somewhat justify the premium price is Benny's Bullys. They are quite uniform in size and texture which tells me that they are more processed (probably ground and shaped vs chopping up chunks of liver). Since all 3 products are 100% beef liver, I just go for the cheapest - my dog eats them all the same.

Also consider the beef lung treats at Costco. $13 for 500g, pure beef, made in Canada. They do go on sale several times a year too.

I bought a bag of the Costco one, it went rancid even though I kept it in the fridge. I had to throw it out.

Quebec Costcos has a brand called Nutribites that goes occasionally on sale at $12.00 or so. It's 500g and 100% pure beef livers. I do like Purebites' cuts (it's a thin and flat rectangle) compared to Nutribites' squarish' cut which makes it harder to split in half but other than that, pure beef livers are my go-to when training and rewarding my dog.

I think Amazon sold out for now (RFD effect). Maybe try PetSmart?
