[Amazon.ca] RAD Cycle Products Bike Hoist $16.73

This has been on sale a few times and there are other RFD threads on it. Excellent reviews.
I have one too and its great to keep your bikes inside and out of the way, since they are so darn annoying to store!

CCC shows currently the lowest price since Sep2018
And before that it was only lower back in late-2017
Average regular price seems to hover between $25-28, so current price represents around 37% discount.

Looks good. Reviews say the rope is trash so I guess whoever buying should count the cost of a new rope.

Count the cost of buying screws too. I recommend buying screws at your local hardware store. These things strip very easily.

This looks like the same hoist used in this video to lift tires up onto a tire rack.

After installing myself a few years ago, I can attest that the rope is fine for light duty use. My mountain bike is probably on the heavier side, but of course nowhere near the claimed 100lb limit

You need a very high ceiling if you intend to walk under it. In the demonstration video on the Amazon page it looks like he is hoisting a small bike.

Yea, I don't really see this as saving much space, if any. The space under the bike still has to be empty so it can go up and down. If you're taking the bike out every other day then there's not much point to having it up in the air.

Was looking at one of these for storing my thule cargo box. Might pass on this one though if the rope is garbage; don't want it dropping on my vehicle if the rope breaks.

I bought a 2-pack for cheap years ago and didn't put them up until two weeks ago. Works great and got the bikes out of the way finally. Highly recommended for this price.

I have bought one like this at Bianca Amor's Liquidation. I paid $4 for it a couple of years ago. IDK if they still stock it , but it might be worth while to check it out

Had something similar from crappy tire, really annoying if just lifted it without the bike then you have to get a ladder to get it back down

I diyed something like this to store my 6 bikes in winter in my garage above my car

I used the following:

https://www.lowes.ca/bike-racks-storage ... QSEALw_wcB

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/outb ... p.html#srp

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-4- ... /204273859

Worked well. I also had the advantage of adding other components so i could actually lay the bikes against the ceiling

how long were the screws you used to support the 2x4 to your joist?

I've been using these for years. They are great. I store my bike covered, hoisted up under the roof overhang at back of my wooden garden shed. 4 winters and counting, no issues.

Mind you, the rope on mine is good black woven nylon. Can't say if this is the same.
