[Amazon.ca] Redragon K552 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - $34.00 (38% off)

This is a cheap gaming keyboard. It's the most popular one on amazon. I actually just bought it recently after I had a more expensive keyboard break on me. I'm happy with it for the price. This is the cheapest price it's been in a while. Some reviews said it started giving them problems after about a year, but others have said that it's held up well for many years. I figured I would be better off buying cheaper keyboards if the expensive ones break too. This is a smaller keyboard without the number pad on the right side.

I just ordered the RGB version today for $43.78 (32% off) because I want to be able to change the colours of the keys. The one for $34.00 has the bottom row of keys purple, next row orange, next row green, etc. Not that big a deal, but might be worth the extra $10 if you want to be able to change the colours.

Edit: Note that the RGB version has blue switches instead of red switches... so that makes it way more clicky when you type. I much prefer the keys on the cheaper version... much quieter. Going to return the RGB version and keep the $34.00 one.

If you have any issues with it the seller has an 18 month warranty where they just send you another keyboard and don’t ask you to return the old one

I own this keyboard and have had issues with individual keys not responding to presses sometimes after a few months of use.

The first time I did a warranty claim they sent me a new keyboard and did not ask me to ship the old one back. When the second keyboard had the same issues after a few months, they just offered a full refund.

For the price, the keyboard is pretty great and if you have any issues they’ll replace it or refund you. Warranty process is hassle free.

I've always used a regular key board but why do some people prefer mechanical?

It feels way nicer to type on. You don't really notice until you use it for awhile and then switch back to a mushy one. It's hard to describe.

I've had this keyboard for a year or so and it's way way too loud. I ended up getting a more tactile one which still feels great. Have been trying to sell my red dragon on kijiji for months with no bites.

I bought a really expensive RedDragon keyboard ($99) from CanadaComputers which had purple switches (brown equivalent). It was great but after a while I've noticed the space bar likes to double click evident in my typing right now since I am using i t. Not sure how to get the warranty for this but my last RedDragon was the K552 that OP linked and it was p roblem free. Really hit or miss I guess.

Bought this keyboard almost 3 years ago at Canada Computers, still seems to be going strong with no issues at all. That said, I got the blue switch version which is pretty loud, and I miss having a num pad as well. The material for the key cap is ABS, so it gets really shiny after using it for a while.

How do you start the warranty process? a couple lights have gone out on mine after about 10 months.

Man you have so many better choices with $100 like HyperX, Logitech, Steelseries.. Reddragon is just an entry level brand so I would only spend 30-40 for their mechanical keyboard and thats it..

I was desperately in need of a keyboard since it failed during work... really should have gotten something different.

A "regular" membrane keyboard turns into mush after a few months of usage for me.

Mechanical will last a lot longer and has better feedback (most switches anyway) to confirm that a key is pressed. The feedback can reduce typos and increase typing speed if you are conscious about it.

If you don't go through keyboards membrane keyboards quickly then probably unnecessary purchase.

I've tried a few mechanical keyboards, this brand is one of the few that I find has larger sized keycaps. Other brands that I tried had too tiny keycaps placed too close together. I'm not sure if I have giant potato hands and everyone else has slender elf fingers but this is my goto brand for any new mechanical keyboard.

Red Dragon makes amazing keyboards for the value. Great build.

People are over-paying for lot of Chinese keyboards, and this is 90% of the experience of expensive ones. (I have a very expensive one and few Red Dragons)..

I have the blue switch version of this.

It’s better than it has any right to be.

My kid has the full size one , he is banging on it all the time some edit courses (FortNite) - the kb it's still in one piece , so I would say it's very durable Face With Tears Of Joy

Bought this same keyboard 3 days ago for 60. Amazon seems to have a funny policy of not doing price matching on their own items. But said to return and re buy.

please note: the one on amazon is not RGB, just a solid non recolourable set wave of colors.

Canada Computers sells the version that is full RGB, perkey customizable, full RGB that is completely customizable.

If you really don't feel like supporting CC and you don't mind, i guess this is alright. But the one they have is objectively the better keyboard
