Was interested in the 16GB 5S for a buddy who is looking, but the reviews on Amazin don't seem that great. Note that these are not Refurbished by Apple, but by a 3rd party and come with a 90 day warranty. I'll pass, but there still might be some folks out there who might consider this.

Cosmetic grade on most of these is 7/10 whatever that means. Would rather go refurb from Apple directly.

I'd be so careful with refurbs if they come from anywhere but apple. I recently sold my old iphone 5s to someone through kijiji and he said he had been through multiple 'refurbished' phones from wind mobile, first 2 had bad batteries and screen would ghost, 3rd one still had ghosting on the screen. He said he thinks they refurb and put crap batteries and crappy screen. I followed up after I sold him my iphone 5s and he said it was great compared to the refurbs he had been dealing with.

The Ipad air 1 has comparable specs to the current Ipad Mini 4.
To say that the air 1 is slow and underspec'ed suggests that any other tablet other than the air 2 is useless. (Which is not true.)
Even the Mini 2/3 are perfectly good tablets and they are less powerful than this.
And the order is fulfilled by Amazon.ca. (So easy returns.)
What's the risk?
You buy it. Don't like it... Return it.
