[Amazon.ca] Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB NVMe (209,99$ -> 119,99$)

Deal provided in Link above. Seems pretty good for a Game Drive.

Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High Performance Solid State Drive R/W 3200/2000MB/s (SB-RKTQ-1TB)

Q: Will it work on ps5?
A: It works with the PS5, for better performance use one of our Rocket Plus series SB-RKT4P-1TB (https://www.amazon.ca/Sabrent-Internal- ... r=1-2&th=1)

This shouldn't work on the PS5. It's likely a mistake. I haven't heard of any Gen 3 drives working with the PS5.

Edit: Perhaps Sabrent Support meant it works inside an external enclosure, but it should not work directly installed into the PS5.

LTT did a YouTube video showing gen3 drives work just fine - albeit slower but do work.

Did you read the comments or watch the video?

"Gen3 drives are entirely incompatible regardless of storage size."

"If the PS5 detects that a drive is PCIe Gen 3, it will display the incompatible drive message, regardless of its size. Hope this helps clear it up!"

Im guessing the Sabrent gen 4 and the Sabrent heatsink for PS5 is the way go? Sorry if a little off topic....For those that picked up the Samsung 980 Pro through an earlier rfd post to install in the PS5 , did you go with the Sabrent Heatsink ? If so what are your thoughts? Other heatsink suggestions for PS5 that are available in Canada? I was looking at Elecgeaŕ or the new PNY one but can't find it in Canada?. Thanks.

He puts in a PCIe gen3 drive in - gets the message. Acknowledged the message and continued to install and run the games on the drive - then goes to see if there's a difference in performance in the game.

Lol I watched the whole video and there is no point where he gets a gen3 nvme drive working in ps5, at the end he got a very slow gen4 working in the ps5 despite it being slower than the recommended speed.

I watched the video.

Linus installed the PCIe Gen3 drive, got the incompatible message and then swapped the Gen3 for a Gen4 drive

9:11 What happens if we install an incompatible drive?

NASCompares got the same message when they tried the PCIe Gen3 Samsung 970 EVO Plus
