and have used it almost daily for 3 years without any problems.

Salton used to be a good brand before Walmart got their mitts on them and they started to make their products with cheaper and cheaper parts to fit in with the price point Walmart wanted. Unfortunately, the number of defective units also went up and their reputation went down...
I have an identical looking Rosewill branded from Newegg but it's only 1500W, served us well, Only con is rather small element and quite bulky, sits talls.

Got an induction cooktop and wow it heats up twice as fast with 2.6kW on boost on the smaller 7" element and 3.8kW on the large 10" element.

What's important is the manual shows 1800W for NA and 2000W for UK.
Yes, similar to how manufacturers fit the specs to codes available in different countries. Found that out while researching eBikes. But the insides are the same...

As it should be in North America. The 2k rating is for Europe.

As is mine, maxes out at 1800W.
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

1800W is the marketing spec, probably the rating for the element. You can think of it like the peak power for speakers, a useless number except to make a pretty sticker.
10A is the maximum current it can consume from the power outlet. Power = voltage * current.
If the voltage in your outlet is 120V, then
120V * 10Amp = 1200W
Electric devices could consume higher power for a limited time, but continuous power won't be more than what it's rated to consume.

Does yours have a fan running underneath? My Kalorik one does. The noise level of the fan is too much for my liking so I didn't end up keep on using it. TIA
