A good TV, but too close to OLED pricing.

This one might be preferable for bright living rooms.

Imagine spending $1600 on a 50” tv and it’s not 120hz. Only the 55” variant models and above are 120hz.

I'm seeing it's 120hz from the description...

The next step in TV channel delivery should be 4K120.

8K60 (not the OP TV I know) won't add much unless your TV is massive or you're sitting with your nose against the screen.

120Hz makes a significant difference in anything fast motion.

The 60Hz caveat you mention kind of kills this deal at this price.

Afaik, this is the best non-OLED tv. Pretty good price, though 55” X90J @ $1298 was a better buy for me

Why would one want this when an LG OLED 55 is pretty much the same price?

In most cases, one would choose the OLED.

If you're in a bright family room, this QLED might be a better choice.

See this question all the time... 2 things:

1. If you're in a bright room, you do not get OLED
2. If you're watching static images all the times (ex. CP24, CNN, or using the TV as a desktop monitor), you do not want OLED, otherwise burn-in issues.

By the way, I would recommend people buy TVs from Bestbuy. I bought a 55" QN90A last month and noticed some dead pixels. I was able to get the TV exchanged by having Purolator pick up the old one (applies to 53"+ TVs). This is a very good service as I do not have a car. With Amazon, they make you take the TV to the nearest UPS store to ship it back to them. Price is the same for both retailers.

The QN90A is not the perfect TV but I have had it for a month and here is what I noticed:

1. There is slightly noticeable DSE (vertical bands) with panning shots in bright scenes (can't see them in dark scenes)
2. There is dirt/dust stuck behind the panels (both of my QN90A's had them and I have seen reddit users post the same). It can't be seen on the couch, only when close up with a white background.
3. Game mode has washed out colors (I have read it's due to local dimming but there's no fix). Samsung considers this normal so I try to play games in Standard mode.

Overall, this TV has amazing PQ and the colours just pop but please remember, it does have it's own set of issues and is by no means the perfect TV.

I've been debating this as a computer monitor. it's not OLED so I dont need to worry about burn in. 4k120 is plenty for me. and for anyone saying it's too big I'd just push it back further or wall mount it. it's also cheaper I believe than those fancy curved ultra wide 49"inch Samsung panels but has more pixels overall.

I got the 55 inch model in January and I'm pretty happy with it. It's really nice in my bright living room.

If it's over 50lbs then you have to take it to the UPS depot. I found this out the hard way. Never ordering anther TV from Amazon again.
