Price has been changed to match at Staples as well but the question that keeps me from ordering right now is what will the price be during Black Friday sales.

The trick is to buy it and request a return label before 30 days are up and as long as the drive gets shipped back, you can can your refund even after the return window.

I'm still good from the $188 2TB MX500 which to me seems like still a way better deal, even recognizing that they aren't exactly the same thing twice the capacity is hard to argue with for slight differences in performance.

65480 for 10% off technology purchase.

65474 for 15% off online purchases but it did not apply to SSD.

Can someone recommend an inexpensive but reliable Intel based SSD 1TB (SATA) if I want to stick with the Intel brand?

According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_SSDs) Intel hasn't released a new consumer SSD that uses SATA since 2017 and that drive tops out at 512GB. I think you'll need to go for NVMe instead of SATA, pay more for an enterprise/datacenter drive, or get something that's not Intel.

Thanks, Skyspark.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, I described my search for an Intel SSD in the following thread. Much appreciate if you can take a look to see if you can offer me some concrete suggestion:
