Perhaps the cheapest 2TB SSD I've seen, pre-COVID or otherwise.

Agreed.

Still an attractive non-boot drive for non-intensive use.

Great price for 2 TB SSD. I could assume it will be best price before the price goes up higher in the future. 870 Evo regular price went up right after the sale price.

USA inflation isn't going away, there is some very bad economic stewardship that will drive inflation in a constellation of currencies.

I'm buying now in advance, despite being in a holding pattern in the early summer. The B2B wholesale and B2C retail markets are providing unique deals.

I use a 1tb as my primary gaming drive. Very fast. And I have a system with 2 nvme drives. Don’t let people tell you this isn’t fast enough for a primary gaming drive

I had one of these drives and returned it. Being QLC it only transfers at 500 MB/s for the first few seconds, then drops below the speed of mechanical hard drives. I suggest avoiding it.

That's only common if you are transferring large files. But when it come to opening programs or booting a game and etc. It's fine.

Over on the buildapccanada subreddit, someone noted that Newegg has a potentially better offer as they are also selling it for $215 with free shipping but an additional $10 off via coupon code CSSD2AZ8Z9N. It is slower shipping though.

I ordered two of these from Newegg and got $20 off for a total of roughly $410 before tax, totaling about $460.

You will need a "USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter"
https://www.amazon.ca/CableCreation-22p ... 01ESJS36Q/

When connected through USB, you can use this to store PS5 games and PS4 games.

You can play PS4 games, which lets you save space on your PS5 console storage for PS5 games.
To play PS5 games, you need to copy game data from the USB drive to your PS5 console's internal SSD storage.

So... If given the space on the console, I still need to download games from the USB drive... Why not just download the game from PSN as you need it then? Why is this better?

Sony says "It’s much quicker to copy a PS5 game from USB extended storage than to re-download it."

USB 3 HDDs should work fine. Slower than an SSD obviously. But you should still get quicker load times than playing PS4 games on a PS4.
