[Amazon.ca] Samsung 980 Pro- 1TB ($199); 2TB ($399) - PS5 OK

1. It requires a heatsink if using with a PS5.
2. Other retailers have matched the price. Shop around.

I got a 1TB for close to $200 two-ish months ago and don't regret it...I have enough space and I'm hoping they release an "upgraded PS5" with a bigger internal 1TB?2TB? in 2 years, I'll upgrade the PS5, but keep the Samsung.

The 980 Pro in my opinion is just amazing value regardless of the price.

Value is defined as the monetary worth of something.

I think the definition that Kanye was going for is: the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.

If I didn't already get the WD Black SN850 for 350ish during their price error/sale, I would jump on this!

I believe the 1tb will be $200 at BestBuy on Boxing Day, got an email from them this morning. I don't personally think I need 2tb, so that's an option to watch for those who want to be more frugal.
c'mon get happy!

Purchased this from Amazon the other day and looking to install it later today; 2tb for $299. Looked online at various installation videos and reviews and it seems to be really easy to install and it is well reviewed. Read/write speeds are above the requirements of the PS5. 1tb option is there as well.

Is the 970 basically just as good on the PS5?

2TB on the PS5 is overkill, but i would have bought this if it were an option earlier this year. $300 for 2TB of ssd storage is pretty good. I mostly only have PS4 games stored on my 980 Pro anyways.

I think if you don't use a heatsink, it will throttle under heavy loads, but it probably won't affect longevity too much.

Considering that the 2tb new built-in heatsink variant is well over $500+ this is a solid price. Can easily buy a quality heatsink and install into PS5.

Storage space is about the users need, not the console itself. If someone likes to have a lot of games installed, its worth it. Many games are around 100gb now. Im trying to wait for prices to come down, but with things the way they are now that might never happen.
