I got one for $458 at costco when they were clearing them out in the warehouse. Came up to $508 taxes in. For the price it’s a great 1080p projector. I set it up for the kids and for my fight nights. Don’t listen to all the negative reviews. I bought an adaptor for the micro hdmi port and hooked my fire stick up to it and absolutely love it. Take it up to the kids room and project it on the ceiling for movie night. I have popcorn ceiling and this projector makes it look like a smooth surface. You will need a fairly dark room to use it in or wait until night time. I project on my wall, ceiling and a 100” portable projector screen and my family and I love it. Built in speaker is pretty good as well. I wouldn’t wait for version 2 as there are really no substantive upgrades other than having 2 projectors to give a massive screen size. Everyone’s opinion is subjective. Don’t listen to those that are commenting based on specs or what reviews or their friends say.
I have used in a pitch black room and in a room with minimal light. Works best in pitch black however even in minimal light the brightness is not bad. Again everyone’s opinion is subjective and a lot of the negative comments are coming from those that have watched reviews or are reading the specs. Give it a try for yourself. My wife, kids and I are happy with this projector for the price of $458 plus taxes. Would I pay $600 or more?
