Neonic explained very well here (and you do need a high-end graphic card, on 240hz) ! plus you are getting back panel LED on G9 model.

If anyone wanna get G9, i would suggest to grab LC49G97 model (bestbuy usa has it but not canada). there is one on-sale from MS online store, at $1649.99CAD :
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/p/samsu ... verviewtab

Make sure to call them and verify the model number before order it - and please note: LC49G97 will be shipped from US, so try protect yourself when you unbox during covid-19.

"If product is being sold during a limited time event, such as any of the following events the Lowest Price Guarantee does not apply:
Boxing Day, Boxing Week, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Friends and Family and VIP Sale."

And on amazon website its advertised as black friday deal :

23% off
Black Friday Deal
CDN$1,549.99 CDN$1,999.99

So I just called visions, apparently they will do the 15% when price matching Canada computers (because CC has it in stock). But the 15% is off the difference not off the entire price.

So the calculation is 1999.99 - 1549.99 = 450 * 0.15 = $67.5 in savings. 1549.99 - 67.50 = $1482.49 before tax.

But the thing is Visions 3 year warranty is $230 bucks which is way more expensive than Amazon's 4 year at $119.
So I talked them down to $150 for 3 year warranty, plus the 67.50 discount you are just saving a mere $37.50 when buying from Visions.

At the end of the day I purchased mine today at Visions because i think returns and repairs would be easier at a physical box store vs online.

On a side note - Buyer beware of the model - There are 2 G9 models

LC49G97TSSNXDC (new version): https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/mo ... g97tssnxdc

LC49G95TSSNXZA (discontinued): https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/mo ... 95tssnxza/

This one is the old one - dunno how would it impact in real life tho
Interesting , didn't know that there are 2 models.

Amazon, CC, Newegg, Visions, only list the old model though. I don't even know where you can buy the LC49G97TSSNXDC version.

LC49G97TSSNXDC is not listed in Canada (just in the US).
Hopefully, they just forgot to change the reference and we are not getting dumped with B stock.

I just ordered it from Amazon with UGO offer (10% back in gift cards) which represents $175 savings ($1576 tax in)

Will let you guys know which model I receive on Tuesday :)

Wow I thought the $1750 deal was good, this is definitely hot if you are looking for it, especially when stacking other cashback offers.

The curve is not as aggressive as I thought it'd be, I think it's perfect. I'd say the biggest problems are the horrendous lack of USB ports and poor uniformity, but only noticeable on large areas of solid colour. It is particularly bad at the edges.

For those curious and thinking about reaching out to Samsung Support... I wasted my time so you don't have to.

1. Samsung US extended warranty on these from 1 year to 3 years at no charge. Was told this is for US only, CA carries same 1 year warranty as other monitors. "Policies differ from country to country".

2. Asked about the new model # and even sent the 2 different product pages on Samsung US with new/old model #. Was told "LC49G95TSSNXZA is the only model available in Canada as of now." No additional info available.

I picked my monitor up at Visions, but I submitted an online request for price match so I have an extra code:

Here's the code: PBEAT-68132838 (I think this is a one time use code)

if anyone wants to get it at the $1482.49 price.

moofachuka wrote: Yeh there was the flicker issue and the bezel not sticking... But at this price I'll give it a shot cuz it seems like amazon recent reviews from October are pretty good (I believe ones manufactured after August 2020 are good)
Back from my lunch break. Recent Amazon/BB buyers nearing end of return period (late Oct) were still complaining of flicker/popping/bleeding issues. Even those buying the "newer" model number version. So roll the dice.

Thanks. I contacted the store via chat regarding the model number, and they said they're selling the older model:

Got approved for my price beat but couldn't justify spending $1600 to upgrade from my double 27" set up at this moment.

PM for coupon code!

Great deal. Would probably have picked this up and sold my LG IPS. Probably the only thing I really wanted for Black Friday Other than a sale on a fanatec wheel. I Usually treat myself to a nice birthday present which often takes places around black Friday. But I got some winter tyres instead. Lol

Would be **** dope on a driving or flight simulator. If it wasn't for this whole covid dealio killing my disposable fun income among family and other duties.

The black is really black than highend IPS monitors, 240hz is just awesome, color is very accurate.

disolitude wrote: It's 5720x1440 and like having 2 1440p monitors side by side with a boatload of cutting edge stuff like HDR1000 certification, 240hz refreah and QLED.

Anyone who thinks this is low resolution for this size is out to lunch. Biggest issue for this monitor is how will you get 144+hz in games on max resolution.
I game at 5760x1080 at ultra settings using 3 monitors which is close to this monitor. I get about 100-120 fps using a 1080ti and 7700k. You will definitely need a 3080/3090 but anything over 144Hz is not even perceivable to most people. Im looking for a 49" ultrawide tomorrow, but I'm not paying 1500 lol

The G7 odyssey is the better deal imo. I just bought one.

$700 for 32". You could even buy two and put them side by side for a lower price, lol.
