Good light, been using the 27w one since January without issue. Paid $45 back then so $49 for 36w seems to be a good price.

What an ugly design. I guess it's meant to be a heatsink? Seems like it would just be a collection of spider nests after a season

It depends how much light you want and where you mount it. You can buy square ones, but with this design and having in a middle of house it gives you maximum coverage.

I thought the same thing about the nests. Around here we have tons of spiders and normally I just blast my security lights with the pressure washer but this has a lot of nooks and crannies. Looks alright otherwise.
