Seems the picture quality is iffy for a monitor.

I'll pass but thanks OP.

A good bedroom TV I'm sure.

I am using a Hisense 43-in 4K TV as a monitor. Before this I used to have a TCL 32 1080p TV which are using as a monitor. Based on my experience, I will recommend that a 43-in TV being used as a monitor be at least 4K.

I absolutely love having 43 in of space to work with!

Edit: this one is 4k! Also, you should have a somewhat deep desk at least 2.5 ft.

I got a Sansui TV as a welcome gift when I bought my condo. There happened to be a power outage twice within one month after I moved in and the TV decided to die after the second outage. I do not recommend the TV from this brand but that was seven years ago so maybe quality has changed.

Sansui made some good reel-to-reel players in those days when Japan was threatening to rule the world. Ach! how the mighty has fallen.

Isn’t it cause the power outrage and power surges killed the TV? Any TV without a power bank to protect it would fry like eggs even if it’s a brand name OLED.

55” has a $60 off coupon, bringing it to $440 plus tax.

That is pretty cheap for a 55" with Google TV.

It's just how well it runs the OS vs Sony will be the question.

wow, tempting..4k monitor under 300? 303 with taxes in! but it has the dealbreaker chicken legs stands! it won't fit my small desktop table! :(
its dirt cheap but i'll pass! heres one reviewer:
This is the worst TV I have ever bought.
The picture quality is not crisp for most shows.
When the TV is turned off (not sleep), I need to unplug it to turn it back on. Sometimes in sleep mode it turns off on its own.
Many times, it is disconnecting from the Wifi network when in sleep mode and not reconnecting when turned on unless it is unplugged.
There is no browser app that I can find.
Using the remote control is very iffy for the TV to react. Once the TV is turned on, it is very slow to react to the remote for anything. Press the power button on the remote for too long and it turns off with no way to turn on other than unplug.
In general, the TV is very slow and does not react quickly to the remote.
This TV will be heading to the garbage very soon

Sansui today is just a licensed name; not the good old hi-fi equipment manufacturer we older RFDers remember fondly. Check Sansui on Wikipedia.

I have the 65” variant of this TV that I got last year. It’s been quite good aside from one time I had to unplug and replying it because it wouldn’t turn on. Also, although rarely, the Netflix app acts up sometime. Otherwise pretty good TV that replaced my 55” Vizio.

Sansui, wow there's a brand name from the past. Had a Sansui amp many years ago. I assume, like many other defunct electronic manufacturers, some Chinese company bought the brand name.

Same with Pioneer. So sad.
