Why does it have to be blue?! So tacky and the human eye cannot focus at that wavelenght of the light spectrum.... and the font on the keypad is also terrible.
Using blue LEDs is a bad design choice but it looks like they switched to white LEDs unless it differs between batches?

https://biology.stackexchange.com/quest ... blue-light

Schlage makes good locks but they need to hire someone else to improve the design, that font looks very shanzai to me

I once spent 2 hours outside my home, fumbling with my door lock, because of the dastardly blue light. Rumor has it, I am still outside blindly groping the lock to this day.

He's actually correct about blue light. I hate those blue Christmas decorations that look like they are floating in the air because my eyes can't focus on them properly.

I believe Homekit, SmartThings and Wink Hub , (or anything that supports Z-Wave) would be fine. Cheapest bang for your buck should be Wink Hub 1 which is about $50

Although I went with the Yale Lock, this lock is also very good.

I have two of these BE469 purchased during Home Depot sales, one from Black Friday last year, one from spring this year. The one from last year had blue backlight behind the keypad, but the newer one has a white backlight behind the keypad. Personally I like the blue, but you probably will get white.

I wish they'll stop putting blue LEDs everywhere, I would much prefer white LEDs, it gets so annoying that I sometime swap it out for a green/orange/red LED just because it is so much more pleasant to the eye and not a death ray lol

Everything seems to use its own hubs. Is the wink the best one?

When I did my research I found most reviews said Smartthings > Wink.

But even without any hub you can still control the lock remotely from Phone with the app right?
