[Amazon.ca] Schwinn High Timber ALX 24" Youth Bike, $385

With another bike shortage upon us, this may or may not be considered a "hot deal", but I thought I'd post it anyway for those looking for a bike for their kids.

Seems like an OK price for a bike with an aluminum frame, 21 speeds, disc brakes and front shocks. Comes with a 30 day return policy (I confirmed over chat)

In comparison, I was at Costco yesterday and they had the Northrock GS24 youth bike for $369 in store, which is a lot more expensive than I remember it being online. That bike has no shocks and linear pull brakes.

How is this bike compared Northrock from Costco?

I'm in the market and have been waiting on Costco shipment but unlike the disk brakes on this one..

I was eying that one too. Any chance you could take a measurement from ground to the top tube where the child would stand?

I have a 6 year old son who's quite tall for his age. Would this be a good bike for him, or too big?

A lot of websites said this size is good for 9 yo however a few said 7 yo.. my son is about 132cm (4'5") and he barely met the minimum height.

I had him try one at Walmart and with some practice with me to guide him it will be fine. He was able to mount and dismount without any problems.

Thanks! My kid is 52 inches.. So 4'4" at 6 (actually not six for a week still), so he's a big boy.... I figure may as well get this size as he'll definitely need it by next year?

Hope this helps. That’s at the highest seating position.

Thanks but can you give this dimension, where your child would typically stand?

bike's ok, not bad, but not good either. Ofc I am looking at it in a very spoiled mountain biker perspective

Without spending $500,000.00 is this a great bike for the price compared to others that's the same price or cheaper.

Fat Tire or no Fat Tire?

They are almost identical

I notice Costco has to he Northrock 24" for $369.99 but it doesn't have disk brakes.

Fwiw I went to look at the 24" Diamondback at sportchek and while the standover height is good, the handle bars are very wide. Great for a bigger kid, but way too big for my daughter. Sticking with the Schwinn.
