[Amazon.ca] Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming 2.5 inch SSHD SATA - $79.99

For those who need to upgrade their PS4s with more space, this seems like a pretty good deal.

Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming 2.5 inch SSHD SATA 6Gb/s Flash Accelerated (8GB) Performance Hard Drive - Frustration Free Packaging (ST2000LXZ01/LX001)
https://www.amazon.ca/Seagate-FireCuda- ... 07H2F3741/

Price: $79.99

Despite the fact it says "Gaming" in the name, I would not use it for PC when SSDs make a huge difference over this SSHD. With that said, this review seems to show a tangible difference in the PS4.

Because this is cheaper and double the size. Hard drives are very limited by the hardware on the ps4 so the jump from this to an ssd isn't a huge improvement like it would be on.a pc.

Dont be fooled this hybrid is faster than my Kingston and WD ssd's. Not as fast as my Samsung EVO but its fast. Great buy overall.

I have this on my PC and it's incredibly slow, I would only recommend it for a PS4.

I have two PS4 Pro systems, one has this drive in it. The other has a 2TB standard Seagate HDD, but it did have a 2TB SSD in it for a while. The difference between this drive and a standard HDD is huge, the difference between this drive and a SSD isn't a lot. The PS4 SATA interface is kind of slow, the Pro is better, if you have a SLIM or launch console don't bother with a SSD.

In GTA this drive saves about 20-30 seconds on loading compared to the HDD, with a SSD it was about an extra 5 seconds or so savings. In many games the difference between a standard HDD and SSD is only 2-4 seconds and this drive falls in the middle of that somewhere.

If you decide to use a SSD in a Xbox One X there is a more noticeable difference but this SSHD is also a big improvement over Xbox Stock drives, just that Xbox One is more difficult to upgrade.

Because of how this drives work the games you play the most will load the quickest. Initial loads are no faster than stock drives. Check out this review for an idea of what to expect.

Another comparison too... in my opinion this is an excellent PS4 drive.

Nice! I dropped one of these into an external USB enclosure to attach to my XBox One. I'm very happy with it.

Storage drives don't benefit much from SSHD. If this is a better price point than a regular HDD, go for it but don't spend extra for the SSHD just because it's "faster" than an HDD. The caching algorithm won't do much for general storage.
